what is/was ebonite's best heavy oil ball? was looking at some like the gamebreaker, NVD. was wondering what is a good heavy oil ball. i love ebonite right now and want to try to stay with them.

On TRUE heavy oil, nothing hook earlier than the Infinite One. I have mine out the box at 500 grit and I rarely get to use it. I mostly throw it up the channel in match play to burn up the outside. For me, the NVD was about 4 boards weaker than the Infinite One, but probably out hooks it at the same surface prep.

At the moment it's NVD, I tried mine at 1000 abralon and you can do good with it with alittle speed ajustment and approach. But other balls I would consider would be Infinite One and Xxxcel. I think the new Evolve is going to fall abit short of the NVD, looks like it may be more of a Striking Motion.

after looking at some new stuff, i know its not ebonite but its hammer. could i take an onyx vibe and dull it up to make it a heavy oil ball? ive heard stories about the blue vibe where people dulled them up and it work great on heavy oil. they said it was their best oil balls. would the onyx vibe dulled work better than an NVD on oil you think? i have a chance to get either of them and just curious which would be a better choice? trying to go with ebonite and hammer because i love their reactions. any other company, eh.. not so much for me.

I thought the best one was the pinslasher. Has a nice heavy roll to it.

Pin Slasher works very well on Shark for me. Pin is about 5" from axis and over ring, 1000 Abralon w/ polish. I was able to use it for all 4 games of PBA league a few nights ago. NVD would work, too.
Not sure if a Vibe would be a good choice on heavy oil. Maybe the new Widow?

The Infinite One is for real heavy oil.. The Pinslasher is good for medium heavy only.
The IO is also more of an oil ball than the NVD.

by far the best oil ball for ebnoite is the old 8 ball, that thing just hook hook hook and never stoped

my nvd is so strong i had to polish it to keep it from burning up ,and its still stronger than my viortual at 1000 and the magic cant touch the nvd. i had a big one and a wmb ,even a cell and they cant touch the nvd.
