What the he#$ happened to this ball
« on: April 18, 2005, 02:27:14 AM »
I have a bowling rack in my room and this ball has been sitting on it for about three months...I use it only to see the volumn of oil when they change the shot at my home house....

Its under the folder adrenaline pics...its basically cracked all around the ball..
I think its too old to tell ebonite about.

Does it get really cold or really hot in that room where the rack is?  I mean is it near a heat duct or anything?

my friend had a tpc warrior that cracked on his way home from a guy giving him the ball once...it was fine in the bowl when the guy gave it to him...he put it in the car(on the seats) to go home..got home and the ball had cracked all the way around.

i had an adrenaline and the finger holes were starting to crack out and soon to blow out.

Not only is it probably too old, but they might not want to deal with it seeing as it's a plugged ball. In the 2nd picture it looks like that was were the crack originated.  Ever drop or bounce this ball out of frustration?

I've noticed Ebonites are prone to cracking around the shell especially if there's exposure issues. I've never seen other balls do it except for the original reactive Hammer Vicious (Ebonite product).

I had a Crush/R split just like your ball and it was left in a closet. It very well could be just the coverstock or a undetectable flaw.

I don't think it's specific to any brand of ball.  I've had 2 Track balls do the same thing.  Stored in the basement, which is heated. Also had a Storm crack near the finger grips, but never had an Ebonite crack.

I had a Monster Frenzy and a Scream/R ball do the same thing - and they were sitting on my dining room floor - in the center of the house. 10 feet away from the nearest heating duct or window, 18 feet away from the front door.

One day they were fine - a month later, when I brought 'em out, they were both cracked. They were in two different bags, too...

If you don't take them out and roll them once in a while they just sit there and quietly crack up.
