Ebonite Demo Day experience (kinda long)
« on: February 01, 2009, 02:38:16 AM »
Well i just got back from demo day is muscantine iowa. Got to throw the one pearl, magic, and striking motion. All were drilled with the pin above the fingers pretty much over the ring, and the cg and mb in line about 35-45degrees.

My stats are 17-18mph, 375+rpms, 4x0 pap. like to play 4 arrow to about 10 on the house pattern but i can play anywhere on the lane

They had 4 lanes with a more volume house shot, 4 lanes on a regular house shot, and then 4 lanes on a drier shot.

STRIKING MOTION- lets just say i will not be throwing this ball EVER. This ball only hooked when it hit dry. thats it. send it through the middle on the heavier pattern and it just skated, skated, and skated, then rolled striahgt. If i stood around 35 and sent it straight to 5 board it was great, but otherwise trying to play 35 laying it down around 25 out to 13 had NO LOOK! This ball for me just didnt match up to my game, i wasnt able to change surface and i think that could have been the main problem

MAGIC- This ball reminded me of my gamebreaker off the spot but the playmaker through the heads. This could be my next purchase. the ball just glided through the heads and when it got to the break point just rolled off the spot instead of flipping straight left. The interesting thing i found and still dont understand is that they gave me a lefty drilled magic the 2nd time i was throwing it, and the ball reacted HARDER!!! off the spot than the righty drilled magic. The layout for the righty ball would be about 4 inch pin to pap and the mb about 3 1/2 to pap, while the lefty would be about 4 inch pin to pap while the mb would be about 6 to 6 1/2 to pap, so i have no clue why or how this ball reacted harder and more than the righty drilled ball and no one there could understand it either...it is something i hope someone could maybe answer...(WINK)

THE ONE PEARL- this ball worked great on all of the shots. it was everything i expected, i dont really care for pearl equipment because i feel they get to flippy and uncontrollable on sport patterns, but since these were just house patterns, send it anywhere right of 17 and watch it roar back to the pocket. The ball was great, but once i wanted to move way in around 6th and 7th arrow it lacked the carry i get from some of my other equipment and it was hard to contorl the break point from that deep because it kept wanting to read the middle of the lane. But for playing a fresher house pattern this would be a great skid flip ball.

In all, i think the magic would be perfect for house and sport patterns, and the one would be great for house patterns if you want the skid flip...the stirking motion im sorry to say in my eyes is a dud and just something that i think lower rev and speed players could make work.
