Ebonite Hook Again kit

Has anybody used it?  If so, how well does it work?  Is it worth the money?

Give the ball a hot water bath - it's easy and it works.  Two 15-20 minute baths gets most of the oil out, if you do it every couple of weeks.

Go to the hardware store and buy some "oil dry".

A 10 lbs. bag is usually under $10.00.

Nothing pulls oil out of something, better then oil dry.

JLS that sounds like a idea to try, but isn't the Ebonite Hook again used to pull plasticizer out of the coverstock, not just oil.  Ebonite wrote about how plasticizer migrates toward the surface of a coverstock, and that causes the loss of reaction, but that was before all the new coverstocks focus on oil absorption.  Plasticizer is supposed to be like a lubricant, causing loss of traction.

But then the new video for the Complete NV says that daily cleaning is needed to maintain reaction.  So I don't know what to think.

Do you dump it on the ball, place it in a bag with a pan of the stuff, or what.  More details man!!

A 3 or 5 gallon bucket, pour some in first, put ball in then cover ball with litter. Put in closet (or some where the cat cant get to). Leave for 2/3 days.

Basically the way Pnj posted, but we use "oil dry".

This way you don't have to worry about the cats!!!
