TNV vs. Shift
« on: April 14, 2007, 03:02:57 AM »
In comparing stats on both balls, they both appears to be very similar and should have comparable reactions with OOB surface and similar drills. Has anyone thrown both and can post results?

I know the Shift has a light load of particles, but that should not be much of a factor in the reaction.

My proshop has both and they are drilled pretty similar I think the shift hooks just a tad less, and not as hard off the dry, but thats just what I have seen from him throw it

I have both and they are drilled the same way...... Pin over ring 5" from PAP
MB 3" from thumb center. The shift goes longer and has a very hard snap. The Total NV starts up about 2ft sooner with a very hard arc. NV is definitely the earlier rolling  piece.

H-Man, if you would of placed the MB closer to the thumb, it would be much stronger on the backend.  The difference is the TNV has a stronger MB than any other ball.  Your TNV is drill too strong that's why it rolls sooner than the Shift and more arc motion on the backend.
Can't compare the 2 balls with same drillings because the difference int he core strength.

DanR:

How can you say that the MB on the TNV is stronger? If you research the Ebonite and Storm websites, you will see that-
1. The MB rating on both balls (15 lbs.) is .022
2. The diff. on the Shift is actually more than the TNV, .055 vs. .051; again on the 15 lbs.
