I have not heard alot about this ball, is it a dud? It was released yesterday correct? Any videos out there besides the one on the ebonite website?
-
I'm sure it's a good ball, but knowing Ebonite, if it doesn't fly off the shelves it will be marked down to $85 in a month.

I was thinking about getting one, but I went with The One Pearl instead. I shot 730 1st time using it, so I really don't think I made a mistake there. Now that the Magic is out, you'll start seeing reviews and videos. I don't know why this website hasn't listed The One Pearl for review yet, its been out. The Magic has been listed and only came out yesterday. C'mon BR!
They do, its right here...

I threw it at a demo day last week. It is the best Ebonite ball that I
have thrown in several years. I am still not going to buy it--I don't
trust Ebonite covers to last very long.

I drilled one up 5" pin to PAP 55 Mass Bias (3 in from PAP) 7/8 hole on the axis , it was too strong and kinda burned on 2nd shift shots of THS. But on fresh house, it was great. it made a really strong move down-lane playing 17 to 10. The carry was very good, the ball really hits hard. I had to put it away in the 10th frame of game 1 as it was burning up. I'm really happy with the ball, very strong. It will be good on PBA conditions or heavier volume shots w the OOB condition. For house shots use high pins with weaker bass mias's and polish the ball. Might be unusable otherwise on house shots.

Throwing it tomorrow along with Power Swing, Hot Sauce, Hy Road, Black Pearl Reactive.
I am sure it stronger or close to the Power Swing in hooking power, but curious to see what it does overall against this group.
-
I get mine just in time for league!!! My hope is that it will be close to my NVD but with more backend. NVD rolls nice and smooth for me but i would like to see a little more pop on the backend at times...

So this is ebonites new heavy oil ball correct? Mrbowlingnut, how did it compare to the hot sauce?
-
Magic is much stronger in oil oob than Hot Sauce, night and day difference now the Sauce is almost identical to the Magic.
Magic is one of the best balls I have thrown in years, top 10 for me and having thousands that is saying something. It is what the hype for the Striking Motion was supposed to be, on oil easily 9.5/10 rating for me.
Threw it about yesterday twice one practice session and subbing in a league last night for a friend.
It has decent length and outstanding hooking motion and continuation, great hitting power and is still somewhat smooth.
Mine is my standard 4 1/2 pin to pap and mb 1/2 right of my thumb drilling, which is a late revs flip drilling that kills for me.
Hot Sauce skates with too much oil upfront in box, but it goes 50 feet and then has a hockey stick type of shape to it. Covers all the boards in the last 10 feet, which is still alot of them so it is not even close to weak.
The Power Swing compared to the Magic is close very close but earlier and smoother with the pin at 4 inches to pap and the cg in the 4 1/2 range. The PS does cover alot of boards but imo does not hit as hard as the Magic on the same pattern.
Both are oiler you can wheel the lane with so get what I am saying on these, did not have the Virtual out there but these balls for me are much better fits to my game.

Just saw the video on bowlingball.com, the ball looks impressive. What is impressive, if you look at John Cogdon (excuse me if i spelled it wrong). Look how much room he has with it. With him being a lower rev player, this thing looks strong!

The magic is really good, threw it with a new 2nd Dimension and Mega friction this morning the magic has good length and well above average hit.
it fits between the mega and 2nd just like you would think, the mega might be the biggest earliest nastiest oil ball I have ever thrown. It is gonna needs polish to use it on medium heavy or in my case sit forever.
-
yes the mega is a monster... i just sold my 14 lb

The Magic is better than any of the NV series, drilled mine up the other day and could not believe how well this ball carried. It got through the heads real clean and didn't over react in the mid lane and made a sharp but controlled move on the back end. I was on Pro Lanes and have really enjoyed my Pearl One on them but started with this tonight and never put it away, went 257, 221, 257 and on a 5 man 24 team league I won 2 high pot games so the lanes are not super easy. I set this one up with a 5" pin out and mb at 75 degrees and the lanes are oiled 41'.
Very nice addition Ebonite!

I threw this finely made ball for decent 760 series last night, migrated about 8 boards in but all in all it rolled fantastic the entire 3 games.
The ball is one of the truest reading balls made period, needs medium oil but lets you stay lined up with small parallel moves in every few frames.
-
It is in the NV series they just dropped the NV from the name. So I guess that would make it the best in the NV series. I even e-mailed them and they told me the only difference between the Complete and the Magic is the coverstock...

I think we all know that changing the coverstock can also change the reaction of any ball.

Has anybody thrown this ball that has thrown the virtual gravity or mega friction. I would like to know how it compares to these two balls.
-
Strongest to weakest in oil:
Mega Friction even polished is more than either pin under ring to pap 4 1/4 x 4 1/2 cg
VG pin over ring 4 1/2 x 80 degree layout mb to pap 5 1/2
Magic same layout exactly as the VG
Biggest hooking ball would be VG overall but my least favorite of all three, I got cheap so who cares though.
