Pin Slasher YES or NO?
« on: September 23, 2009, 03:25:27 AM »
Im a tweener with a rev rate between 250-350, and my average ball speed is about 14.5. The tippical shot where i bowl when freshly oiled is usually 39' medium oil. Would the pin slasher be a good all around ball as the conditions go from medium oil to half burnt in 2-3 hours?

From what I've seen, the Pin Slasher has huge performance for the price tag. Three or four guys throw them on the Penn State team and they love them. I got the chance to throw one and I was impressed as well. It has a very consistent roll and a strong arcing backend. The ball is pretty strong from what I've seen so you might need to drill it tamer or polish it if your speed is 14 mph.
But overall, a very good piece and I definitely wouldn't mind picking up one for myself.

"medium oil to half burnt"
A low RG ball like the Pin Slasher will not be a great choice here with your ball speed and rev rate. The Smash or Boom will fit the bill here.

Most of my friends who have the Pin Slasher use it more for medium-heavy conditions especially when the conditions appear to be a little tighter down lane and they need something that will get in a roll and finish at the back. I don't recommend this ball for anything less than medium, as you will see the ball burn up on most house shots.
