Total NV...where does it fit?
« on: January 27, 2007, 01:36:44 PM »
In my signature, you can see what i throw currently.  In the house I mainly bowl in, I try not to get into using the power or mean machines because they just become too much ball.  I usually start out throwing the Heat Blast or Equation down similar lines that PA and Couch were during the finals last week.  If you didnt see it, its relatively straight at around the 10-15 boards swinging it out to the 5-7 boards.

My question is, will the TNV still allow me to play straight if I take some hand out of it, or is it still too much ball to play straight on a THS?

THS is such a broad word, if your house has a lot of oil, you probably could use it. Couch and allen were playing on a fairly slick pattern which was 45 in length. They said on the telecast that the outsides were slickest they have seen in a while. from what they said it sounded like you could play straighter on the pattern with a high end ball.

it might be too much ball from what your descriptions are, but you never know when you go to a diff house and its an absolute flood and this ball would be nice to have for that reason.

With mine, with an aggressive drilling, in the 4000 OOB, it went long on our THS, and didn't really want to grab the lane. Like I've said before, after some break in games, it really starts to warm up.

My buddy has his pin above the fingers, still at 4000 OOB, and it's O.K. on our THS.

Couch and PA were palying on a long pattern, but neither the Total NV nnor the Ravage WRW was using are heavy oil balls. Remember the pattern was a set of strips. If the ball left the dry once it started breaking, it would skid well past its breakpoint. The commentators said that specifically: there were lots of 2/8/10s on the right side all week long.

BTM just tested the Total NV and it's most definitely a medium oil ball. It's a strong ball but still medium oil for the average rev bowler. Couch throws it much faster than average but with his high rev rate, he can use it on more oil.

I'd say it would replace your Power Machine, depending on the drill pattern, and surface. The Total NV might have a different ball path that you can use to give you a different look on the lanes.
