« on: May 31, 2009, 07:49:01 PM »
I gave my proshop guy my PAP and told him i wanted my one pearl to have alot length, and a strong backend, he drilled it with mb in my track and pin 3 3/8 from my pap, what should i expect from this layout?

That is not a traditional pin to pap distance for length, in fact, that distance should optimize the ball's flare potential.  However, that could possibly be the perfect layout depending on how you throw the ball and other factors.

Is the ball drilled pin up or down?

Are you a stroker, tweener, or cranker? Are you speed or rev dominant?  What is your pap?

What conditions do you typically bowl on?  What line do you typically play?

I presume your driller left the ball's coverstock alone, but do you typically adjust the surface of your balls?

Has your driller drilled other balls for you in the past?  How did they work?

I had a cell pearl pretty close to the same drill. Ball was very lengthy and had a good snap to come back to the hole..

your ball being the one pearl...it should snap harder and more, but with that layout you do get very nice length, the snap isn't the ball's FULL potential but good enough to get back to the pocket.

Generally a length with smooth arc reaction.

Any time you have the PSA (MB) on the negative sid of your centerline it weakens the entire hook of the ball but does make the ball go very long. I did this with one of my Magic Touches and it is at least 2 feet longer than my other Magic Touch.

My only question is did he weigh it when he was done? unless you have a high track it may have too much negative weight.
