Anyone have any idea if the cover on the Game Breaker 2 Gold is the same EXACT (not similar) cover as was on the Playmaker?

I doubt it's the exact same.

It can't be the same. The Playmaker had the V2 core and the Gamebreaker-Gold doesn't have that same core. That V2 core was unbeatable in any ball they put it in, at least it was for me. I would still be throwing Ebonite if that core was still legal and being used.

Jim,
earlyrolling (original poster) was asking only if the coverstock was the same, NOT if the ball was the same as the Playmaker. We know the core is the new "Enhanced V2" core (Didn't they use to call it the V5 core?)

Someday, maybe I will learn to read, darn-it. :-[

The new version is great too, that ball is money. There is not much (dry) I can't do with the three GB2 I have with different surfaces and drillings. I can't wait for the GB2 Gold though, should be great.

The Gold is certainly eye catching.

from what i have heard the 2015 GB10.7 is an updated version of the 2008 (2006?) version much like what storm does with the r2s cover. if the GB2 has almost the same reaction as the original, which it does from what ive seen. the gb2 gold should be almost the same as theplaymaker

Almost reminds you of an IQ Tour Fusion, at least as far as the colours go.

Ebonite has had plenty of blue and purple, a few red balls. The Gold is different.
Good different.

First bit of gold they've had since the Optyx Formula 1.

I've always wondered if the ball testing is only open to those who've registered for Bowl Expo?

The Show Case is set up for Pro Shops and Others who attend Bowl Expo.
However, to my knowledge, no one is refused entry.
