Gamebreaker 2 Remake
« on: January 18, 2023, 05:23:06 PM »
I never owned an original Gamebreaker, but all the things I heard were great about the ball. I was told that the ball was a problem solver. if you couldn't figure out how to play the lanes or what ball you should go to next......picking up a Gamebreaker automatically solved all issues that you had! That being said, when they came out with this GB2 Remake, I had to get one.

My ball is 14lbs 2oz. with a 2.5" pin and 3.2oz of top weight. Surface prep is 500-2000 grit siaair. My PAP is 3.5"> and .5" up.  2.517RG and .048 Diff

I knew that the original GB had the lowest RG on a ball ever made, so considering all that I figured this ball would probably be very strong as they'd try to duplicate the reaction one got from the original.

I was right too, so I had mine drilled pin down, 70x5x30. I wanted the backend to be as smooth as possible and not too violent.

This ball is a MONSTER! This damn thing recovers from anywhere in medium oil, no matter how far I project it. It flat out HOOKS! All that hook and yet, it is still quite smooth. This surprised me very much.

I've thrown it twice now on our THS. I bowl in a Bowlero house which has a ton of built in friction all throughout the lanes. I have a ton of miss room right (right-handed) and a little miss room if I tug it.

My first two times using this ball were 687(224-253-210) and a 655(209-256-190). I am very impressed with this piece. It is a hard hooking ball but it is very predictable and continuous! As seen in both sets it will let you know when its time to put it up. Carry goes away and you suddenly start leaving corners. Regardless this ball rolls up hard and hits with authority.

Don't know if this mimics the original but I do know this ball is a keeper! Good job Ebonite. I just added another weapon to my arsenal

I recently drilled up a GB2 (4.75" pin to pap) a few weeks ago to replace a ball that was ready to be retired lol.

I was hoping for it to be a step down from my Blackwidow 2.0 as a ball with surface when the BW2.0 is too much. I've used it one night in league after starting with the BW and needing to ball down part way through game two. The GB2 is just like mentioned above. Stronger cover then I was expecting, but in a good way. No doubt a big part of that is probably the box finish of 500/20000.

It kept a very similar shape to the BW and allowed me to finish the night with a good set after transition had gotten ugly. The ball is very controlled and one that will get plenty of use in league and my tournament bag. Smooth and forgiving which is what I like to see for a lot of conditions especially early on in a set.

I have drilled one other GB previously and it was the GB2 Phenom solid which was an amazing ball as well.

The Gamebreaker series is great, from either plant. Big B has done a great job duplicating or maybe even bettering the balls from EBI...talked to a few in the know and it seems the Big B balls are a little stronger than the EBI ones.

The GB4 pearl is great as well, step right from the solid GB4 or even the new GB2 and keep on trucking. Ebonite is really underrated, the price performance is phenomenal. You really can have the GB4/GB2/GB4 pearl and cover most house shots.
