How smooth is the original Gamebreaker 2?
The GB2 rolls similar to the IQ Tour but with more continuation on the backend. Nothing flippy about it. But it does handle medium/heavy better than an IQ Tour because of the higher differential. I have one drilled 75 by 5 by 35 (pin above ring and cg stacked below the ring no weight hole, surface at 3000). Ball looks like it starts putting on the brakes around 35 feet and just makes a heavy sweeping motion all the way through the pins. For me it is the ball of choice on patterns around 42 feet in length where I can square up my angles and play 12-13 at the arrows with a 7-8 breakpoint).

I'm sorry to say My GB2 is one of the flippiest balls I own. pin down on center with a p3 hole @ 1000 grit it rolls 45ft and looks like it got kicked sideways. decent ball for carry down but not much else. picked it up used so don't know exact specs. b careful how you drill it

Mine is drilled pin over Bridge with 2000 abralon and is nice and smooth, gets through the pins well, a carry machine

I have multiple GB2, not a flippy ball at all from what I have experienced
great predictable arcing motion, very continuous
great ball for a great pricepoint

The original GB2 is my all time favorite ball. It is very smooth and predictable. Sometimes too smooth but there's stronger equipment available if needed. It's my benchmark ball for league and tournaments due to its predictability.

Mine is extremely rolly in shape, but it's not weak, playing too close to the friction can give it the appearance of being jumpy. I tend to move in a good bit and can really blend wet dry shots with it and also use it as a benchmark ball (have mine at 4000 grit, layout is 40 x 4-1/2 x 40). Very pleased with the GB2, great follow up to the original GB and remade GB if your looking for a strong midlane with continuation piece.

Im on my second GB2...my first one was drilled pin to the right and slightly above the ring finger...CG right below it...my PSO said it was stacked. My first one just hooked...very smooth. That one cracked...got another one...drilled the same. Barely hooks...took it to get the thumb fixed...other PSO said it was illegal...so he put a weight hole in...Ill see how this one does next week.

My GB2 Gold is an amazingly smooth piece for medium conditions. It's drilled 20 x 4.5 x 70 (Pap at 5R 1/2 up), with the pin just up from my ring finger and about 3/4' right. Even though it's drilled for length and angle, the option is smooth, strong, and continuous. Easily one of the best pieces in my arsenal- I can throw it almost anywhere.

Just threw the GB2 phenom pearl tonight.
Word is from the players after World Series is that it's the best GB2 yet.
Couldn't agree any more.
Stronger cover than I thought.
ball goes aggressively through the pins (at least on this pattern it did)

I picked up a GB2 yesterday and immediately hit it with a worn 1000 (close to 2K now). Tried it a few hours later, but the lanes were so bad, wheeling plastic was my best option. Took it out for a spin today at two different centers and I am quite impressed so far. Not sure how far it is from my PAP yet, but it looks close to 2-2.5. The ball, layout, and surface combo is similar to a more aggresive urethane motion. After my first shot, I knew what it would do before it even read the lane. After I get to throw it on more patterns and surfaces, I will do a "ball review" on it. Thanks everyone foe the help thus far! Looking to try the Phenom Pearl and compare it to my Agent (1000) and Marvel Pearl (lane shined 4000).

I'm sorry to say My GB2 is one of the flippiest balls I own. pin down on center with a p3 hole @ 1000 grit it rolls 45ft and looks like it got kicked sideways. decent ball for carry down but not much else. picked it up used so don't know exact specs. b careful how you drill it
Hey I knew that ball.lol I've had a couple drilled pin up and down, and they both hooked strong late!

Hey I knew that ball.lol I've had a couple drilled pin up and down, and they both hooked strong late!
that's what I get from it. shot a 296 a few weeks ago with it. only works well with polish and when it goes long.

that's what I get from it. shot a 296 a few weeks ago with it. only works well with polish and when it goes long.
I will have to disagree.this ball works well on many conditions, its all about the surface prep. i have had it at 2000 dull on a high volume 42' pattern, was very predictable and stored energy to get though the pins
Also have had it at 1000 dull for a short pattern, again, very good reaction
Had it polished for my typical house shot where the volume is lower.
overall, a great ball for the $$ (115 bucks most places)
like any ball, it works well for some and not others, I get it
Easily a decent benchmark piece IMO

what's the layout on your GB2? I think it's the layout on mine.

I have the pin in the middle finger, its a 5" pin-pap for me
But, remember that the ball surface is so much more important
I would argue that ball motion =
50% surface
20% pin-pap distance
15% core strength
15% layout/tweaks
Don't be afraid to change the surface, experiment with your equipment
Best thing I ever did was get a spinner - but - way different thread about that

That sounds a lot like my reaction with the Optimus Solid.

That sounds a lot like my reaction with the Optimus Solid.
I just picked up a Global X with a stronger pin up layout and it's way smoother.Has not been a great scoring ball for me yet as I'm still getting used to it but it's already got me out of trouble. worthy of a spot in the bag.
