Having a lot of success with the Big One so far!
« on: April 05, 2006, 12:28:44 AM »
Man, I can see why this ball is so popular.  No matter what I do with it, the ball takes a nice, hard left turn at the end.  I had problems at first, but that was mostly due to operator error.  I was using it on Medium conditions and was worried about it being too strong so I was starting out deep every time I took it out, and that is just not my "A" game.  The last couple times I've thrown it I pulled my head out of my kiester and played the ball just like I play any ball, tweening it down the boards between 5 and 10.  I have to move my feet a bit more left than my other equipment, but not terribly so.  The ball just gets a great angle and really carries.  By the third game I did have to move far inside and play a tight line around 15, but the ball still turned the corner at the end and carried.  Surprisingly, it's also helped me a lot on my left side spares.  I sometimes had problems with balls going completely straight through the soup in the middle, but the Big One moves no matter what.

I'm not sure how this was set up exactly by my driller, as I didn't ask him the measurements.  The pin is above ring, and the mb is to the right of my thumb.  I can't remember off hand if the mb is above or below the thumb, but there is a weighthole to get it legal.
