Infinite One surface for THS??
« on: January 07, 2007, 04:43:43 AM »
If the factory surface is too much for a THS, what do you suggest going too? Would 1000 or 1200 be better? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use my IO w/ OOB condition on THS in early league and it's a beast.  Like the man said, it loves the fresh oil.  I can also use it in late league if I move in but still up 10-12.  All depends on how you throw.

So far I have used mine at OOB and at 1000 grit abralon, 2000 grit abralon and also least but not last I've tried 1000 grit abralon with a little Ebonite polish

and for my house with its THS pattern I have found it very controllable at 1000 grit abralon. Don't forget every house is different even and especially with its

THS oiling.

Well, I kept the Infinite One at 600, then hit it with Brunswick Factory polish. The difference is huge. It goes loooong, then makes a sharp move. I had to really slow the ball down, to get it to react. I'll try it a few more times and decide to take the polish off or not.

Just an update.

I'd recommend using 1000 and 2000 Abralon in succession until you're happier with the length results.  I actually preferred mine at 500, but obviously different bowlers and lanes require different surfaces.

I don't know if our THS has "enough" oil to keep it at 500. I may go to 1000 and see what happens.

Would it react too much like a Big One or Overtime at 1000 grit??
Thanks Jeff!

The Oil Absorption rate is so much higher on the Infinite One that I don't believe you'll have that issue.  Good luck!
