Idiot with NV
« on: March 08, 2007, 02:21:11 PM »
tonight i heard this guy came in the shop and bought a NV (not total nv) ... he throws a backup ball.....with 2 fingers....which means he thinks he is the sh**. so he spends 300 bucks for the ball and throws a backup ball....*still boggles my mind** Anyways, tonight during league play, this guy is waiting to bowl an open lane. Note: thursday nights = all lanes taken up by our practice league. So he he waits with his few buddies and drifts off for 2 and a half hours leaving his NV on an empty table and goes to hang out. the ball is in plain sight and no one is watching over it. *wow* i thought to myself...and it was even worse when i witnessed him throwing his little backup ball and is clearly horrible. another good ball goes to a bad bowler

You're in Dekalb...take the short drive up to Rockford and try that in one of our centers.

And if the biggest jerk on the whole world would buy 300 NVs and just dunk 'em into a river... I wouldn't care a bit...

ther will be other balls and other balls and even then there will be jerks and people "not worthy" these balls... but anyone can do with his money he wants to.

So what is the point? There simply isn't any...

I have a ? , what makes one Worthy of owning a ball?  Afterall it is just a ball.  The problem seems to be someones of "ENVY" of the the NV. Perhaps you wanted the ball and considered the person who owned the ball to be unworhty since, perhaps you or someone else is a better (person, bowler, etc etc)

Sounds like we have greed, envy, lack of humility, potential theft by rymacatthedisco and a whole spectrum of things going on here.

Wow it is just a ball...... LOL

If you have the $$, you can buy any ball you want. Every league out there seems to have those 1 or 2 guys who average 170 yet buy every new high-end ball that hits the shelves. While it's kind of a waste, it's the bowler's choice. As long as they're not breaking their banks, hell, even if they are, it's still their business what they choose to do with their $$. I just feel sorry for all of the good bowling balls going to bad homes.

In this industry we need a lot more people like that.  How many $2,000 set of golf clubs out there sitting in the garage.  One day we complaining about people nickel and dime the pro shop guy, the other day we complain the customer spending too much on a ball, whats up with that?

Then again... it IS Ebonite, they'll most likely release another batch of them "Just to satisfy customer demand" (aka the 3 skull ball releases, thus driving down the value of an original one)
