INNOVATE.....Nice!!!!
« on: August 19, 2012, 03:30:18 AM »
Just finished demo days yesterday.  Was looking for a longish ball, sure read at break as back up for when my savage flip becomes not so savage, and when my angular one, becomes not so angular. ;D

Did some research and the innovate seemed liked promising.

At DD yesterday, I' m sad to say the innovate will not be the replacement (unless I really drill it long and polish it up)  And I'm also sad to say my wallet is a bit lighter.

The Innovate is a very very smooth strong steady ball with a really continuous return.
We had three patterns and from the house (32' buff to38), to our tournament (33'buff to 40,50 units) pattern it simply just shined!  Smooth thru the heads and mids, with a nice sure strong arcish snap at the end.  The move at the breakpoint seemed more like a solid.  And this is at label layout.

The DD coincided with our tournament and they extended to let people try it.  I tried it with the first game and shot 220.  Not so nice fitting ball, inserts protruding about an eight of an inch out, label drilling, not bad.

The ball does need oil tho, at 4th frame mark of the 2 nd game, it was letting getting a bit sluggish on the break.  Also with our longer pattern of 44' it was having a hard time with its OOB finish and layout.

Overall a great ball, reminds me somehow of a v8 jaguar from the '90s.  Some balls releases are so good that I get more than one of, this is probably one of them.  A pin up and pin down would work nicely on medium to slightly heaviest I think.
