Why has the V2 Reactive been around so long?

It seems like every other TV telecast, you'll see somebody using a V2.

It's been around 4-5 years.

What is it about this ball that everybody likes? Is it because this ball rolls so "even/predictable"... or does it have a huge backend that makes everybody like it so much?

What is in this ball that people CAN'T find in any other ball?

pss... How strong is it when drilled for length and polished?

If every company thought like this NIB Pulses, Cuda/C's, Danger Zones, Triton Heats, Bullwhips, Firestorms and the like would still be flying off the shelves. I think Ebonite have seen what happens when an all time great ball is put on the d/c pile and to their credit they are leaving well enough alone.  On those 'a-ball-is-a-ball' house conditions these oldies(and the V2 of course) are still as good as anything else but lots of people seemingly would rather buy the next little core tweak and color change(i'm looking at you Storm!) 3 or 4 times a year. Oh well, thats modern day bowling i guess.

I think beyond the ball's predictability, the V2 is also a very driller friendly ball which responds to different layouts very well and it can handle a magnitude of various conditions!  

Honestly, it's just a great ball that Ebonite has VERY WISELY decided to leave alone.  They could've followed their usual pattern of re-releasing an old ball with a new name / color or maybe even tweeked the coverstock...but why chance it?  People love the ball as is and it's a great piece for anyone to have in their bag!  Heck, I'm a Storm-Head and even I have 2 of these drilled in my tournament bags right now!

Strongish solid reactive, with a low RG early revving lane reading core with decent to good backend....versatile, can be used on MANY conditions, driller freindly.....what else is there ?

Don't own one, and I'm not an Ebonite fan, not a basher either, however, I would have NO problem whatsoever building an arsenal of V2s !!

Ebonite used to make AMF balls. Del went to Track. The core in the V2 looks just like the WHIP. Huummm!!

Those whips had terrible covers.  Core too strong, Cover too weak.  Over-Under city.  What I've seen of the V2s and what I like about them, is very rarely does a ball come out that all styles of bowlers can throw.  The ball motion is so predictable and it's so adaptable to different drillings and cover preps.  It's a great ball for te advanced player that wants 2 or 3 of the same ball to give him/her similar looks, just on different conditions.  It adapts well to changing lanes because with that super low RG, the ball has a defined motion that is gets into regardless of the pattern(in most cases).  It's just that dead even rolling ball, but with some polish it can draw some good angle to open up the lanes with.  I loved the ones I've thrown.  I'd expect it to be around for maybe 2 more seasons at most before it gets outdated.  Anyone that has wanted to throw a V2 has probaly thrown it by now.

I didn't say stop completely.  I just wouldn't be suprised if they came out with a similar ball with a revamped shell(colorwise) and name.  Look at the Beast line.  those just got discontinued this season but they've been around for like 10 years through many transformations, Super beast, Beast w/ Mica, Beast Master, etc...  I'm no ebonite rep or anything but I wouldn't be suprised it we saw something like this in the next couple years.
