Bash???
« on: October 16, 2009, 06:13:35 AM »
Question for those who have thrown it.  Is the Bash a good ball for shorter patterns with dry back ends or have you a better suggestion?  I am currently throwing a RG Grand Illusion as my main ball but some nights as the pattern breaks down it is too much ball for the conditions we are seeing.

Thanks for your replies.

With it's lower diff. it will be less but not a big enough difference from your GI. I would take a look at the Hammer Razyr.

I would go with a boom.

Why the boom over the bash?

I second going with the Boom. I have found that the cover is very clean and floats through the heads with ease.

I typically use really weak cores like the one found in the BLK/RD Bash on short patterns, but now that have my Boom I find that it sees a lot of action.

Mine is drilled with the pin 5.5" from PAP and CG 4 3/4" no hole, pin is above fingers. The cover is actually so clean for me that I had to knock the polish off and progressively smooth it up to 4000. (500,1000,2000, and 4000)

This surface prep has given me my best "look" with this ball. I normally can't and do not use pearl balls, but this one is in the bag for those times when I am dealing with a lot of friction.

Hope this gives you some insight and I'm sure Zack can share his findings with us.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Honestly, I can't see either Bash being anywhere near being close to the Grand Illusion.

The GI is for medium to medium-heavy oil depending on your hand, surface and drilling. The Bash, both of them, are for light to medium-light oil, again depending on the same factors. The Bash just doesn't come close to being a medium oil ball, even with dull sanding.
