what are you alls thoughts on the "softer core". Explain that to me. what are the benefits. how does it compare to the normal core? would it drive better or maybe bounce??? thanks guys

got my X's today from Ebonite so ill let you know soon enough.
the softer core transfers more energy from core to pins...
...so in theory it helps with pin carry.
 
its the first Ebo ball with the new core material.

I would think if softer cores would contribute even marginally, the high end balls would have had them for a long time.  Seems too obvious...

 

It's not like corking a baseball bat, because the wood is "soft" (relatively speaking) also, so it has room for expansion.  The coverstock on a bowling ball is pretty fixed, I don't see how a soft core could make any sort of difference.

I think they are just running out of ideas and dredging up anything new to this generation of "ball Buyers".   Rubber cores went out of favor a long time ago.    But I think they ran some tests last year ago or so that showed a bit more "hit" with a softer outer core.   I think this was known way back also.   It put the hype of thicker cores were better , out of business.

they ran out of ideas 10 years ago. we've been saying that for years... thats nothing new. like anything in life they are reinventing things. trying to get newer generations to buy equipment. at least Ebonite Int is trying to progress, unlike some companies who stand pat for years and make the same SNAPPY PEARL BALLS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN (plus they smell terrible)!!! (sorry where was I???) I have 1 smelly ball in my shop right now and NO-ONE has asked where the other smelly balls are.... NO-ONE...
 
The Magnetite is a huge plus for drillers everywhere. the bits dont shift or shudder when the core gets hit. makes drilling much easier for I.T.'s too (I do a ton of those).
