Ebonite NVD
« on: April 24, 2009, 04:16:09 PM »
I have a few questions, I have a good deal on one and wondered on a few things. How early does this ball react? Does it have the issue Ive heard where ebonites tend to "die" after so many games? Im looking for a cheap oiler with low games and thats what I found in this but if thats the case I may not want it.

The ball is a great ball, rolls well if drilled well. Hooks quite a bit and hits hard. If left OOB or even sanded a little will work well in oil. I personnally prefer it polished with a little snap at the back. Either way it clears the heads and most of the mids clean(depending on drill) and reads the break pt with ease. I currently have 2 drilled for me and 2 set back for later.

I've had mine since January and it's a really good ball. I probably got about 70+ games on it since i got it and I haven't had any lost of ball reaction from it (due to cleaning it every time I'm done bowling with it). It's a very strong midlane ball and a ton of backend movement. Probably one of the best solid balls I've owned to date. I've used mine on longer/heavier oil and 1000 abralon dull worked if you place the breakpoint close to the pocket. Currently, I have mine at 2000 abralon dull for league, can usually make it through the first two games before having to put it away. Overall, great ball! I'll have a full review posted this afternoon.

Thank you all for your help the ball is in beautiful cond. single drill no damage 15 games for 35 bucks. How do you all have yours drilled? Im thinking pin up for me so I would probably move fingers down instead of thumb up. Give me a heavy oil ball but more turn on the backend to create the angle I need.

I drilled 3.  The two I like I kept the mass bias in the 70-90 degree range all with weak pin placements.  I drilled another 4 1/2 X 60 degrees and its way to strong on almost any condition.  I usually keep it really dull and use it in match play of regionals to burn up the outside as much as I can.
