Soaking of One series ?
« on: August 13, 2006, 01:20:04 AM »
Hi, has anyone here ever try soaking the One series balls to get rid of the oil in the coverstock ? How's the result ? Good ? Can share your experience ? and how did you go about doing it ? Reason for asking is because I also have an intention to do it so would like to learn from the members here...thanks

I've done it the same way, 5 gal. bucket, hot tap water and a little dawn liquid. Left it in for 15 min. Soaked a One and a Big One, worked great.

Do you have to cover the holes or set keep them out of the water while it's sitting in it?

Just be careful, It can actually pull out plastecizer; stuff that makes your bowling ball react.

Why not just use Ebonite's Hook Again System instead of taking a risk with the heat treatment.

Hook again system is not available in our country. Pro shops here are not bringing it in. So have to find alternatives. Thanks

Thanks again Drrev 2000 for the advice..

It's no different then any other ball. Soak it in hot water, perfectly safe.
