Magic and Complete NV core Identical

On ebonites website it appears to me that the Magic core and the Complete NV cores are identical. The diff and rg numbers are the exact same also. So is the Magic just a Complete NV with a different cover???

P.S. the picture of the core they have on ballreviews of the complete is not the same one Ebonite has up, so im assuming that the Ebonite website is correct, and if so then the Magic and the Complete are the same cores.

That is an excellent point you are making.

But  there is two thing the magic has over the C-nv.

1,  is the price point.  this is more of a mid price ball.

2.  the name,  it is not one of two million balls called complete or nv etc etc.

3. thank goodness for that!!!!

All the NV balls including the Magic have the same core, but they're turned differently to alter performance. The covers are also different.

Guess what guys? I just checked the core pictures and the Magic's core is a variant of the Complete NV. Notice the beveling on the top closer to the flip block, but not on the bottom.

The Total NV is in the same position as is the NVD minus the flip block. The NVS is turned "nose up" to the fliup block.

I believe the sides of the core of the Magic are rounded off whereas the CNV has that concaved sides with two flat parts side by side.

I have lots of balls with identical or similar cores, but different coverstocks (i.e. the 900 Global Break series).  Why is that a problem?  Same core with same coverstock, yeah, I might be ticked if I bought the more pricey one.

Never said it was a problem, but ebonite is calling the weightblock the Magic Symmetric Mass Bias core, when its still a version of the spike. Mine is on order and I think it is going to be a great ball, I was just pointing out that this was not a new core.

I compared them on bowlingballinfo.com and they are almost the same just different covers.

just shows how a simple cover tweek and you get a totally different ball.  the Angular is SOOOO much more ball than The One pearl.  thats also important when laying out equipment.  no matter what drilling you put on a ball, the cover will dictate ball reaction.

Ebonite just got back with me appearantly it is the same core...

Hi Tim:

It's the coverstock a departure from the controlled flavor that Ebonite has had in the recent past, the Flexol Reactive produces more length through the front and a strong backend.  Though this ball is being released with 4000 grit, it can be polished or sanded to increase either the roll or the kick.
