Drilled a second Mission, need advice
« on: March 12, 2010, 08:29:29 AM »
I''ll ask it anyway.I''m sure there is a simple answer but I''ll ask it anyway:

I recieved my first Mission with the pin above the bridge and the MB drilled in the thumb.  The second Mission I drilled with the pin above and just to the right of the ring finger and the MB about 2 inches right of the thumb.  My pap is 4 1/2 and 5/8 up.  So the pin in the first ball is about 5 inches and the second ball about 4 1/4.

What should I see in different ball reaction between the two bowling balls?  And might it make sense to either polish or compound the first Mission with the pin over the bridge and MB in the thumb and leave the other Mission OOB?

Thanks,

First (5 inch Pin to PAP) should be a little longer and a little more angular on the backend.
The 2nd (4 1/4) would be earlier and smoother break point.

If you polish the first one it will just get it longer and more hook on the backend.

There are alot of other factors like speed, revs, rotation and tilt, and lane condition but that should be the general difference.
--------------------
18 mph,350 rpm,PAP 5 1/2 x 3/8up, 15 deg axis tilt, varied rotational axis deg.. usually 45+
HighGame 300 x 4, High Series 808
Book Average 205,PBA Xperience 185
375 RPM, 17-18 MPH, 45+ DEG AXIS ROTATION, 17 DEG TILT

why don't you throw it first, then polish or leave it as is according to what you have experienced.   Would be helpful to let us know.  I have a vested interest as i'm planning to get a couple.

thanks.

Barry,

The 2nd one sounds like it's pretty close to your VAL. Any idea what the Val Angle is? That could make it very snappy (very sharp transition) off the breakpoint. Plus what is the Drilling angle. The MB's position (Drill angle) could make it  .... not sure.
