I took a ton of motrin and went and threw these balls.  I was a fair test though I still believe I have to throw a lot more to make a fair comparison.

If I wee to compare the Shooter to the Lane 1 Super Carbide I would say they are very close knowing that the Shoter is reactive and the Super Carbide is particle.  I didn't throw them side by side but I didn't need to.

I bowled on a fresh oil shot short but still a Christmas tree oil pattern synthetic lanes backends strong.  Any of these balls would have worked on this shot.  All four balls are drilled very similar.

The Shooter in a matte surface prep still got through the heads well got outside and had a strong roll to the pocket, very arcy, not flippy.  This was the most controllable of the four tested.  Carry didn't start off well, but I was no loosened up yet.

The Shooter XL did get the extra length, thee is no doubt and the ball ws more angular then the Shooter.  The Shooter XL is polished.  the XL skidded through the heads and out to the break point very well and recovery ws outstanding.  cary was great but the XL wsa a lot more sensative to speed and release.  A ball that is that much stronger at the break point would be more difficult to control IMHO but, the ball carries great and much better with the light hits then the Shooter again as expected.

The Lane 1 Pro purple fit between these two balls very well, but the Pro Purple is polished particle.  if i took off a little polish I think it would have over lapped with the Shooter.  It wsa both controllable more angular then the shooter and somewhat more forgiving when i fed it outside, again, I think the ball being polished helped.

The 3D violet Rev Hammer was totally different.  It wsa compounded to 1000 but not polished.  Looked polished.  That ball is amazing for a ball that came out in 1996. Way ahead of its time.  The ball was stronger off the break point then any ball mentiones, reved great and the carry wsa tremendous.  I say that and it sounds like it ws my favorite.  Its wasn't.  I liked the Shooter best, it wasn't skid flippy yet still strong and rad the mid lanes better, then the Por Purple, but I'm a Lane 1 guy and the the Shooter XL.

I will work with the Shooter and the Shooter XL again because I think they are a great combination.  Now if I could figure out where the rest of my Ebonite arsenal fits in.  I'll post that and maybe someone like Brian can help me.
