Title: Overtime replacement
Post by: Aus Shayne on April 30, 2008, 11:42:22 AM
I have used my overtime successfully for the last year or two, but it is as normal not at it's best anymore. I have been lucky enough to find another one in an old pro shop the other week and I did aquire it.

I have a question for anyone that can help. What do they recommend as a very simalar ball to the overtime? I am not intrested in all the technical crap that goes with balling balls now days. I am more intrested in someones opinion on what they have tried and found out. A ball that rolls the same.

I rolled an Overtime for 2 years and just replaced it this year with an Ebonite Gamebreaker.  Have been very happy with the way it rolls, had it drilled for same reaction at the Overtime, the Gamebreaker does seem to be a little stronger on the backend but was very easy for me to adjust to.

the overtime was my favorite ebonite ball when i was throwing ebonite... i shot 300/814 with it......

as far as a replacement,,,,,,  i would say a rival from columbia....  i drilled my rival identical to my overtime and got a reaction that was just like my overtime............

the gamebreaker sounds like i very good choice too...  i havent personally thrown the ball,  but it looks good...

if you wanted to go all out and try a different company all together, i would look at the ogre solid from visionary.....  take it up to 2000 abralon and you got a pretty close match as well

Although the Overtime had and asym. core, the Clash uses Phased Bomber reactive coverstock as did the Overtime. It will be close in reaction shape, you can also take the coverstock down if you kept your Overtime dull. The Gamebeaker will be earlier and much stronger due to the One coverstock.IMHO

My brother had two overtimes, he didn't have a mass bias marked on either one of them.  Asymertical?  Anyways, the gamebreaker will hook much more than the overtime, but thats always a good thing The clash would probably be alot closer.  If you threw the overtime oob, you would probably have to dull the clash to 1000 grit.
