angular one problems
« on: November 28, 2006, 10:45:42 AM »
i just got an angular one and it just kept going straight basically. the pin is above ring finger close to the midline, then cg is almost stacked below it... with the mass bias off to the left (lefty bowler). The guy who drilled it suggested putting a small weight hole in it if it did this, but didnt say anything about size or depth. can i get any suggestions on diameter or depth of a weight hole please.

if the cg is close to the midline you probably can't put a big enough hole to affect it much. you might want to look at changing the surface, depending on your ball speed, rev rate and lane condition. put a piece of white tape on your axis and try 4000 abralon or 2000 and see how soon the ball loses axis rotation and tilt.

Hit it with a 4000 pad.  Made mine a totally different ball.

Ball is not a light oil ball.  Probably was burning up in the front part of the lane because of lack of oil.  This ball is great on medium to somewhat heavy oil with good backends.

well that ball polished plus pearl, pearls tend to have no troube getting through the front portion of the lane, it might not have burned up. Maybe it was carrydown. dont be afraid to change surface of the bowling ball!!

Yes, it could have been carry down, but this ball does not turn at all if it hits dry to soon.

Then you were not bowling on a condition that was too dry.  You were probably playing on some really slick lanes.

I just bought this ball.  I got to use it for the first time last night.  This ball rolls really good.  It seemed to be very controllable and hook a lot.  This ball also hits very good.  I can't wait to use it on my league shot.
