Playmaker is nothing new it's just a proven cover with a proven core. I'm not too exicted about the one remake it's only been out of there lineup about like a season.

IMO the Trimax covers were the best.

I'm hoping it is like or very close to being like the original V2 Pearl which was one of the best balls and most hard hitting balls I ever had. Still have it, but it is 15# and I now throw 14# and I want a 14# one.

It should be stronger than any of the pearl V2s that were ever made.  I also believe that it is the first pearl GB 10.7.  They came out pearl versions of the GB coverstock line with the Angular One, the RSX300, and the Raid, but they were more aggressive derivatives.  The AO and Raid having the 12.7 and the RSX had the 11.2.  That makes it somewhat new and interesting.

I personally never really fell in love with the gamebreaker because it was so even with that V2 core, but since this one is a pearl, the core and cover should be really good compliments.

I just picked up the playmaker on Tuesday and used it in league that night.

I never had the V2 Pearl, but I had the V2 Clean and it is much stronger than the V2 Clean was.

It has a strong arc shape, but not quite as hard turning as the ONE.  Overall, it is similar in length and a couple of boards less than the One.

I must say that right now I'm still not sure on it, but that may be because of the lane conditions.  The lanes were playing a bit lazy in the backends and most bowlers were having problems with their balls finishing.

It seemed to respond to hand position and release changes well.  Giving the ball a bit more hand resulted in going from leaving 5 pins, to blowing by the 8 pin (lefty).

I think after I get a bit more familiar with it, it will be a solid addition for me.

It not a renamed ball! It's the V2 core yes! But, it has a coverstock that's never been used. The Gamebreaker uses a pearl GB10.7 cover which hasn't been used. The V2 Pearl didn't use this coverstock, so it's a new ball!
Whoops! That's what I meant to say was the Playmaker is the pearl, I just punched the Gamebreaker that Ebonite sent me and I had that ball on the brain! Thanks for the correction! Bruce

The Gamebreaker uses a solid GB10.7. The playmaker is a pearl version.

i punched mine up thursday pin under middle finger cg down by thumb  weight hole bout an inch from val gives about 6 by 4 low pin drill.  i have this oob  and just loved it the moment i threw it.  I havent thrown a lot of ebonite stuff in the past so dont have a lot to compare it to.  I was looking for it to  transition a little slower off the dry with a little more  smooth of breakpoint than my momentum drilled pin in middle finger.  first chance i really got to use this was at a tournament today it was a tri state tour in southern indiana, ky, and illinois.  not sure of the exact shot but its one of the tougher houses in the town.  seems to be slick from 10 10  real dry at 10-5 then slick outside 5. Old wood lanes for 12 lanes are in old part of center that about 10ft below the other 12 in the newer section.  What I found this ball to do was clear the heads very clean and with the low flare from the layout  was able to push it through the dry section easier and got a nice smooth arc once it transitioned with the hit the v2 core has always produced. The closest compaison I can give is with a v2 sweet i had drilled similar. tis about 7-8 boards strong but also about 3ft earlier on the break.  was good enough to get me 6th out of 74 people in the tournament, and the first week won me few hundred dollars.  I am highly contemplating picking up another one of these with a stronger drill

My Playmaker should be here any days, but I did punch my new The One Thursday and shot 1048 for four games today in a SASBA/Ebonite Senior Tour. The ball rolled amazing and hit like a freight train! If you haven't tried one, you don't know what you're missing. Just my $.02, Bruce

The Playmaker has got to be the pearl i've ever owned, this ball is scary strong. Went pin under middle around 5" and polished over box and it outhooks everything except my pin under 1000Grit Gamebreaker. I'd like to be able to compare it to my similar drilled Complete NV but the damn thing cracked in half few days ago.

The ball throws pins around unlike anything i've ever seen, on good shots the pins stand no chance and I threw some shots that were guaranteed flat 7's with anything else, but not only did they strike, they threw the pins around effortlessly.

got mine (playmaker) drilled up yesterday 2" pin, 15lbs, pin down ,4 1/2 X 4 1/2, no weight hole. very clean through the heads with a hard arcing turn at the breakpoint. Much more anguilar than the gamebreaker but not becoming very flippy. The lanes bowl on were quite fried but can't wait to use is the PA tourney coming up. Will have better feedback when used on lanes with more oil.
