whats your favorite Ebonite ball(s) right now?
« on: February 04, 2005, 06:16:23 AM »
i mostly bowl on  pba & sport shots, but one of leagues i bowl in is a regular house shot. Lately i have been tearing it up, 300-792/781/751 for the last 3 weeks. (ive also been taking some lessons to stay sharp since the west region is off for the month of Feb.)

but the Xcel's ive got are too hot to put in the bag. the pearl and the particle both are what ive been looking for since i switched over from Brunswick. my pearl is drilled with the pin under the finger, and the cg out ( 5 in weight hole) fresh off the press i threw the first 17 strikes before a swisher 7.. and the particle ( pin above bridge, bomb right of thumb) allows me to play the same part of the lane as the pearl as long as i keep my wrist flat.

right now these 2 are my " go to " balls! also my new v2 strong has been very good to me.

what are yours?

right now... my favorite Ebonite ball would be my maxim.  It's the first ball that I've owned that I can consistently pick up the 10.  Not to mention, it's the only Ebonite ball I have.

While the Omegas are having a break my Crush/R is fun to throw on my house shot! 3x3 hole on PAP to 1/2oz negative side, smoothest arcer i've ever seen!

V2 sanded and v2 clean. Great all around punch for two balls. Will wait on the XXcel particle for a while to see how it holds up but have had rave reviews from customers so far. Pearl is spotty in who likes it and who doesn't

Paul: I don't want to hijack your thread, but I'm curious about something. I watched you tear up the Mission Majors league last year using Brunswick equipment. I remember one week where you went 300-300 the first two games, and got a real bad break the third or fourth frame of the third game; if I remember correctly, you left a 7-10 pocket split. Anyway, with one or two breaks, you could have had a 900 series that night. You were throwing the ball that good.

Anyway, why the switch to Ebonite? Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Ebonite fan myself. But given the success you were having with one line of balls, the switch is interesting.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
