Is there a way to fix? Or do I need to plug and re-drill? At first it felt a little long but thought it would be fine. After bowling with it a few weeks my wrist really started to hurt. I would only throw it a few frames and then would put it away.

Just plug the thumb hole, and adjust the length and just redrill the thumb. Don't totally plug the whole ball unless you want to.

Depending on how much you need to shorten it, you could drill out the 1 1/4" inch slug and put in a 1 3/8" slug and shorten the span. That way you don't have to plug.

I second long roller's suggestion.. I have done that many times on used balls I have purchased that where the span was a tad bit long or short.. It saves time and also keeps the ball plugfree..

I think the great slump of 2006-2007 is finally coming to an end!!

mine was just a wee bit long....so i just took some 40 grit sandpaper...rounded out the edge of the thumb hole that was closest to my fingers...worked perfect...

Just wanted to update on this.
I took my ball into the shop and he did exactly what Long Roller had suggested. He drilled out the old slug and dropped in a 1 3/8" slug. He drilled it up for me and the span fits great now. So thanks to all for the suggestions.
