My driller made an outstanding offer to me on the Ebonite Innovate. :)
For those of you that have thrown this piece, how do you like it's performance on medium to dry THS and sport patterns? How does it handle oil / friction?
What surface / layout have you put on your Innovate?

I really like throwing it with pin just above the bridge..
The ball really seems to come alive around game two of a league night where the fresh oil might push it just a bit to far down the lane to carry on the first game.
Its pretty good all around not a ball to really give up on the high friction either.
What have you thrown it on so far?

My driller sent me a message offering it, so I will probably not even pick it up until this weekend. That being said I'm just getting a feel of the look its giving folks. It seems like it will be similar to my victory road, so I'll probably adjust the surface to help separate the two. I'm thinking it may be a cheetah / viper ball for me.....not sure.

Good lenght, with excellent recovery and continuation. Read consistently off the break too. For me (high rotation, very low tilt) it is good for light long oil to light mecdium patterns. Won't handle the heavy stuff.
If you're planning to use it for light to dry, a weak layout is recommended.
And some polishing might be needed for drier lanes.

Drilled one for a shop helper of mine over the weekend, he wanted to try the Tommy Jones trick layout on his Innovate, wow its a beast off of friction.
OOB for him was tricky after the first game, he too has low tilt and once the burn settled in it was a little too bouncy for him. Might end up knocking some of the polish off of his to smooth it out a little.
Also, it was stronger overall than I thought it would be, that core revs up fast yet the cover is clean enough to retain alot of energy for the back, could be a great THS ball for those wanting to hook it alot as long as there is some friction to throw it too.

Drilled one for a customer of mine. He's an older guy with limited revs. We were looking for something similar to the One Pearl. Layout was pin above the bridge (he's a little bit of a low tracker) Pretty much used the same layout as his old One Pearl, and the Innovate was very similar to that ball from what he's seen so far. Has a nice push thru the fronts and a strong finish on the back for him.

This is one hell of a ball off the dry. I just got back into bowling this year after a long layoff and this was the first ball I drilled for myself.
I used a Morich dual angle layout: 45 x 4 x 45 with a big balance hole in the P3 position. Ball reacts a ton when the backends are super fresh, but it still reacts well as the oil carries down. I don't have a ton of speed and get average revs on the ball.
If you are going to use it on a drier condition, have your driller use a weak layout. Anything aggressive will be difficult to keep on the right side. Good luck.
