Best reactive coverstock in the last few years

I would say it's the Phazed Bomber, the Smash looks to be a very good ball. The Overtime was a great ball and the Clash to follow. The coverstock is very versitle and has a good shelf life. Now if we could get Ebonite to wrap it around the V2 core. WA LA! What are your thoughts on coverstocks?

I love my Overtime, I have it polished and I throw it on guardian/wood surfaces.  I never threw the clash, but I'm going to drill a smash identical to my overtime.  Hopefully it rolls as good as it does.  I have a nib xxxcel, I think that has phazed bomber too.

My magic is as strong as day 1, has at least 100 games on it.

Used it tonight in fact along with a playmaker for decent 691 night, wonder if i should get a Magic Touch or Lane Breaker???

the nitro  r2 classic had a modified bomber didn't have the phazing  and actually the v2 has the nitro core so that is the ball you are describing of the recent covers I like r2s solid,traxion.39, phazed bomber, and gb 10.7, in that order. But I still prefer the old stuff pk 18, and arrow d

Def check out a Lane Breaker.  Love mine.  Stacked straight on the center line.  good layout for that ball.

ebonites best in the last 3-4 years to me is the 10.7 solid (Gamebreaker, The One, SR300). a very versatile cover.

and Ebonite is retiring the V2 core, they are looking towards the future and developing cores for long and strong reactions. The early reving core just isnt really popular anymore in the modern game. The surfaces on todays balls are strong enough to get the ball to turn up earlier if needed.

just my opinion tho.

Personally, I preferred the big ones cover.  Could be polished, or sanded down to 800 and would work.  A lot of manufacturers say just bring the ball cover to the grit you need.  But in reality, not all covers perform across the spectrum.

Don't worry Gazoo, good cores never really go away. If they take it out of the lineup it will be back again - unless they throw away the tooling - even then it could return in concept if not exact form. Two puck cores offer many easy ways to tune a core/cover combination - it is one of the all time classic core concepts

If the V-2 core is going bye bye I guess I need to stock up on Playmakers...I love that ball!!!! I just wish I didn't have to tinker with the coverstock every 6 weeks to keep it reacting "right."

I love the cover on the XXcel. Bomber light load particle I think it is. Ball has never died over years of heavy use. And is still one of the most consistent reactions I have in my arsenal. Only ball of mine to have shot 2 300's so I'm kind of partial haha
