Total NV
« on: December 26, 2006, 04:17:07 AM »
Just a quick question does anyone have any idea when its supposed to come out? And how much different will it be than the angular one?

I saw 2 Total NV's in use at Heritage Lanes in Oklahoma City today. They were highly polished like the One. They were blowing the rack away with a great pin mix and scouts flying every direction every time they hit the pocket. But then again, the person throwing them can make an underperforming ball look good. I'm sure they will work well for some people however.

There is a Total NV that has been USBC approved but I don't see anything about a NV being approved?

It's approved. Just because it isn't on the list doesn't mean it isn't approved. The release dates dictate when balls are added to the list.

the IO hooks to much?  I cant even get mine to come back.  I have it down to 500, cleaned, and drilled long and strong this ball just keeps sliding where my angular one just crashes the rack.  The IO isnt even and aggressive move to the pocket more like a little nudge.

The Total NV seminars start the middle of Jan.  The ball is longer than a Angular One with more backend.  I here there is something special that they are doing at the seminar for Pro Shop attendees only. This is from a reliable source

I attended one of the sneak peaks today and the "special something" was a free mock neck shirt like Ron Hickland is wearing in the videos on Ebonite's website. I did get to throw a Total NV and it had a good motion. I threw it side-by-side with my Total Inferno and Angular One. The Total NV read the lane a little stronger than the TI in the mids. It will be nice to drill my grip into one and see where it fits in my arsenal.

I've been told the shot on tour this week is very tight from one of the ball techs at Ebonite.  Jason Couch was throwing the Total NV in practice and it was laboring getting to the hole.  They put an NV in his hand and got a much stonger reaction.  I see his first block he was +199.  It's is at 15.1 about 25% stonger than the Angular and Quote "the biggest animal in the jungle"  I like that phrase to describe a ball.  I'll be going to the clinic in Milwaukee next Tuesday and am looking forward to it.  The NV IS the "special".  We know the shirt is in the package ahead of time.  Ball deal is a free Total for every 4 purchased, maximum of 16.  If you got the 16 you recieved a hi-"performance ball" free.  The NV is that ball.  Neat thing with the Total is it can be punched either way, symetrical or asymetrical and I'm told it's a "few" boards stronger than the Angular. Supposedly the Totals are shipping the week of the 5th of February so the public will have access to them very soon after. I see various online shops are having awesome advance orders specials on them.

They didn't hand out a NV to anyone at the one we attended. The deal was order 16 Total NV's and they would ship an NV. They are also doing the 4 for 1 deals, so an order of 16 really is 20 balls when all is said and done.

Scott did say that the reasoning for the high price on the NV to PBA members was to "price-protect" the ball to the pro shops. He also said that if the feedback is good, they would look at releasing a ball with similar specs but it would not be as the NV. He said the NV we seen there was the only version that would be made.

Of course, that doesn't mean they wouldn't have a another ball with the words NV in the title like the One series.

Correct; nothing goes home with you except your own Total NV and the shirt and of course any information you gain at the clinic.
The balls are to ship around Feb 5th including the NV if you went with the full 16 ball Total NV purchase.

As for the $300...it may be steep, but I think even to PBA players their cost is $200..so if they have to pay someone to drill with grips, etc...even they are looking at $245-$250 at best.....

I have an NV drilled up and threw it last night in league.  I took mine from the seminar after our 16 ball order.
