Exceed or Enigma?
« on: December 25, 2012, 09:51:26 PM »
My son has an Elevate that he loves and also has a Victory Road Pearl.  He is wanting something for when the lanes get a little pushy in the midlane and doesnt turn the corner soon enough.  We were looking at maybe the Oath but now there is this new batch of balls coming out.  For his Christmas gift, I am going to drill him something that is stronger than his previous two balls.  I had looked into the Endure but want a little bigger gap from his Elevate.

He specs are typically 17mph at release, 4 7/8 x 1 1/2 up PAP, would say he is 300 rpm rev rate, and about 60 degrees axis rotation.

His Elevate is his favorite ball as it is the only ball with a weight hole.  I drilled it 4.5 pin to PAP, pin up, and cg kicked out 40 degrees and hole at P3.  I have told him more than likely since that layout rolls really good for him that I very well may copy that exact layout on the new one.  So I am up in the air as to whether drill an Exceed or an Enigma.

Thoughts as to how much stronger the Exceed and Enigma are in comparison to the Elevate??

The Enigma will be earlier more midlane overall hook n backend, but if he likes the the look of his Elevate I would stick with Exceed but sure can't go wrong with either or but I normally stick with what works because every ball rolls different for everybody

The exceed picks up the mid lane very well and is still pretty hard off the spot, similar to an elevate. The enigma is goin to be a very rolly piece through the whole pattern, smooth in the mid lane and off the spot.

Enigma is comparable to the Challenge on the price line. Exceed comparable to the Oath. Not saying theses are equal in performance just on price lines.
Bowling This Month does an excellent job on test and comparing all balls.

Other Staffers in Florida love the stronger Innovate reaction.

Thanks for the responses guys.  I will keep checking in every so often.  I am leaning towards the Exceed but since both balls dont come out for another week and a half, I have that much time to read any more responses before deciding.  Thanks again!
