Title: Where are they?
Post by: dale jenkins on October 15, 2008, 10:30:00 AM
Ok, I’ve made videos, put up a website and been posting information in forums and I have yet to hear any sort of response from Ebonite, Columbia 300, Track or Hammer. No letter like, “Dear Mr. Jenkins, it has come to our attention blah, blah blah.” No Cease & Desist orders from their high powered lawyers. Nothing. Why? Because they can’t touch me. Everything I’ve said is the truth. Their products and equipment are ruining bowling. Go to my website and see for yourself.

1. You have failed to produce a website for us to go to...as you say

2. There's nothing they can do, or they really don't care, because you aren't affecting them. At all. They don't care what you think, because it doesn't matter to them. They still have customers and you're the one guy outside of the whole corporation. They are not losing sales because of you. You affect nothing.

Also, blogs are protected under the freedom of speech act, and you are perfectly allowed to post your opinion that Ebonite sucks or is ruining the game. I hate Storm, and I could start a million threads saying Storm Sucks. It's my opinion, and there's nothing they can do about it.

However, if I say "Storm kills kittens and puts them in their weight blocks." Then we have an issue. I am putting an accusation of illegal or immoral activity on the other party, for which they could find grounds to battle me on defamation of character and various other "business killing" charges. Though they wouldn't, because it would cost more to say I'm wrong and fight me than they are losing by me saying it in the first place.

Translation: You don't buy balls from them, they lose $200 per week (assuming you're paying A LOT for bowling balls.) You aren't stopping anyone from buying their balls. Nobody cares, and everyone continues to buy their stuff.
They try to sue you and fight a case for years, which they eventually lose because you're protected under the freedom of speech. In this lawsuit, they lose 6 figures, in upwards of $100,000. Why the heck would they care what you say? You're nobody.

The lane man givith the lane man taketh away. Ball technology can be overode by oiling concepts in the same way as you can make a cake shot for urethane or plastic. You ramblings are weak in nature and content. Take the USBC championships and look for an average of all participants. Then tell me how much balls have done.

Seems only Ebonite/Hammer is ruining bowling. I quess the other manufactures aren't taking advantage of technology so I will have to qet rid of my outdated equipment and switch to all ebonite/hammer to compete.

Not just Hammer and Ebonite. Add Columbia 300 and Track to the mix. I could go after all the manufacturers but Ebonite Intl is the biggest offender. They ruined bowling.

Is it possible that with the way that your talking, and what you are doing you are not runeing the game of bowling.

Example what if a kid became interested in bowling and happen to come accross your page or something that you did. They might be scared away because of your actions and never want to bowl again.

Also since you have your pure bowling ball as you call it which what ruber ball would it be? Because I am sure it is not the first rubber ball made so right there you yourself would be a cheater and runeing bowling because you would be using the newest of technology at that time.

Also you keep talking about skill, are you trying to say that all of the PBA pros are cheaters as well and they have no skill what so ever and its just the bowling balls? If you go talk to Walter Ray and PDW I know they threw rubber and all of the tpyes of bowling balls that came out. Your saying they are not where they are today because they cheated that is just flat out stupid to assume. Also if your saying this about bowling are you going to start some stupid stuff with other sports and do the same thing.

Also why are you starting this topic now? Why not start this up years ago. What is the point?

Dale. These are businesses and they are trying to make money. As long as the consumer is willing to shell out $140 for a high end ball, the ball makers are going to keep making these very agressive bowling balls. And guess what, they're just going to get more and more agressive until someone puts a stop to it and that person is YOU. That's right Dale. You and only you can stop it. It's going to take a lot of time and effort. You may have to quit your day job if this really means that much to you.

You'll have to write endless letter's, set up pickets in front of Ebonite, Storm, Track and Brunswick factories (you may need a visa for Brunswick). You'll have to go to the new USBC headquaters in Texas and meet with the big wigs there to plead your case. While there you can check out all the old non aggressive balls in the new museum.

We are all behind you Dale here at BR. You say what we all think but we are all too timid to take on this mighty task. Good luck Dale and we'll be rooting for you to succeed, and bring back the type of bowling we can only see on ESPN Classic. And most important, more videos that we can watch.

Maine, I don't think Dale is a troll. He has a very strong bowling related issue that does effect the game. I wouldn't place him in the same category as BrunsNigger or cloud sheets and most recently BowlerX who just would come on here and spam the site with crap.

I like the fact that he screams how Ebo Intl is ruining bowling when he uses an Ebo ball, and a Turbo no less.  Urethane shell, bulb core that thing will react on the proper lane conditions as well.  Dale, can you answer that question for me?  Is that an Ebonite Turbo Black?  That thing's made for heavy oil conditions, no less.  Maine, I agree with HogsHarley, I don't think he's a troll.  His website and youtube videos are too demented for this to be a joke.  This guy has some serious issues regarding the new hi-performance equipment that out there.  Personally, I think he just couldn't adjust to the new stuff so he's bashing it and the companies that sells them.  And by the way, Dale, what are doing with a Psycho and a Momentum Swing in those videos, since you're hating them so much?  You drill those too and talk about how you bowled "with your heart and skill"?

Hogsharley,

If he isn't a troll, then he is just a disturbed individual that has a lackluster sense of humor, at best.  However you look at it, this man needs serious help.

Dale has an opinion, and I guess, he is entitled to it.  I don't think I am/was far from seeing his point, but he just goes too far for me.

Not Ebonite, but technology in general, is what he is talking about. Why he has focused his energies in the direction of Ebonite Industries has me a little dumbfounded.  If they were the ONLY ONES doing these things, it might be different, but they aren't. ALL the manufacturers are taking advantage of the rules and specs, using modern technology and materials to create balls with capabilities nobody even thought possible just 10-15 years ago.

Dale, while I agree with some of your point in principle, I also think that we must accept that the game has changed forever and will never return to its "heyday".  Life has a funny thing called survival of the fittest where you either have to accept and adapt or get left behind and die.

I, myself, have chosen to accept and adapt.  They may be ruining bowling for you, but they have "fixed" it for countless others and, in this society, majority rules my friend.   Que sera, sera .
