So I've got a Pivot just waiting for holes, but because I don't have any other Ebonites in the bag I have no idea what to expect. I most regularly throw my Defiant Soul and Wrecker, would the Pivot be between the two?
I know that its not out, and maybe not many people have thrown it yet, but even people with a little more ebo knowledge than myself might be able to make a better educated guess. Thanks.

Some length, great traction, likes oil. I have less speed. 3000 WAS STILL TOO STRONG, for me Monday on house shot. Gonnna take it back down and put polish.

Factory finish is 500 and 1500. Pretty Strong.

Yeah I had read that it was 500+1500 and was surprised just how dull it is. I have medium to high ish speed, so it might work. I'm thinking about taking advantage of its natural strength and using it as more of a control ball. We'll see what happens.

When you watch the youtube video in the new ball thread with Mark Baker and Bob Sittman....it pretty much shows how strong the ball is. Very few wrongsiders ever get that deep. Bob has great technique and the ball (OOB surface) shows just how strong it is on what I assume is on a house lane condition.

I believe the ball will play just where all Virtual Gravity Hybrids would play.

I understand the point of the video, and I'm not trying to stir stuff up here, but I don't like when people work angles to make a point. The first shot the lefty was obviously standing too far right with whatever ball he was throwing, and almost looked like he was trying to throw it through the breakpoint. With as deep as he was, getting that ball to finish is a simple couple board move with his feet left. And why use a piece of chalk that is going to dry your line up and force moves more frequently if you don't have to? Why not learn how to adjust and simply move left a bit and be able to stay there longer? I can see what the ball does and the virtues of it without the wool over the eyes marketing. Then let's have Barry Asher do the same thing, lame duck a ball right through the thick of the soup, and oh wow, look, it doesn't hook. Then "well Barry likes to play 3rd arrow." Well that's nice, but if I'm a coach, my first thought is to improve versatility, not patch lack of skill or stubbornness with a new ball.
The ball looks great, and if they'd have just shown these guys throwing it, it would have been just fine, but I don't like videos that insult my intelligence. I never used to like the comparison videos from the past that made older balls look like junk. Of course if you use a ball on a condition it wasn't intended for, playing the wrong part of the lane, it's not going to look good. You use a hammer to pound in a nail, not a screwdriver. Fail on the video, but win on the Pivot. Impressive reaction.

Yeah gizmo I thought the video was a bit off too but its probably marketed to the guy who is up and coming and under 200 ave. Idk...the ball is growing on me tho!

Yeah it's a nice looking ball, nothing against the ball. This video is preying on novice bowlers, and giving a lot of intermediate ones wrong impressions or information. Videos like that create problems for bowlers and people in the industry alike.

Just got mine drilled up and threw it for a game today.....
I'm surprised this ball hasn't got more press. The Columbia Enigma (for me) was a bit of a disappointment and I was ready to stop dabbling in EBI. But this Pivot is the real deal. Like the guys in the Baker video, I was able to get deeper with confidence than I usually venture. Heavy roll and great continuation at the break point. If you can find oil in the heads and mids, the ball performs.
I won't be able to use it in my THS league, but for heavier tournament patterns, the Pivot will be first out of the bag.

I'm really interested to see how this compares against Hammer's Cold Blood, which just hit the shelves today. Something tells me that they may play roughly even, but I'm almost on my last legs with Ebonite. Been throwing their gear almost exclusively since the Apex Addiction, Optyx, and TPC Warrior, but it started to go downhill for me with the Mission X.
But I'm looking between the Pivot and Cold Blood to see what would be a good replacement for my Challenge.

If you can get a hold of the October issue of BTM, they review both the Pivot and Cold Blood. Their review of the Pivot (from my perspective) was dead on. I don't always agree with BTM reviews, but I do in this case. They also like the Cold Blood, but rate it under the Pivot as an oiler. I don't know enough about the Challenge to comment on which one would be a better replacement.

The Pivot is a great ball. It handles oil very well. It's not as early as a Challenge; yet, it is much more off the dry. Plus it is more continuous through the pin deck. It is the best High performance ball from Ebonite since the original Mission. When the Pivot starts to burn up too soon, I can switch to a Legacy and open up the lanes very effectively. Great 1,2 combo.

From what i have heard, the Pivot is close in shape to the Virtual gravity.
Pivot very under-rated piece, pretty darn ugly IMO
I bet there will be a polished version of the PIVOT on the horizon
