Tornado upgrade
« on: February 02, 2010, 03:03:43 AM »
I'd like to get my wife a new ball that would be an upgrade from the Tornado.  She needs something with more backend but probably needs to stick with a pearl or polished ball because of her slow speed.  Would like something in the Ebonite or Hammer line if possible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I agree with the Freeze and Vibe. But i also like the Fast,or Furious by Storm and the Boom by Ebonite as well

Ordinarily a Tornado has a decent amount of backend, especially for a beginners. Could it be that she also has low rev rate as well as low ball speed? I'd wonder why she wasn't getting enough backend with it? It has a high RG and a medium differential of about .040" in 15 lbs, & even more .045" in 14 lbs. Balls (like those recommended above and that I recommend below) with more backend also require more oil and more ball speed.

I feel you haven't given enough data to deal with this problem.

However, if you feel all is fine -
I'd think an Ebonite Boom or an Emerald Vibe would be better choices than a Freeze or the Onyx, a solid that needs medium oil.
