Title: Wood lanes vs synthetic lanes with Big Time
Post by: fishstix on September 22, 2005, 07:48:46 AM
I bought a big time at a pro shop that has synthetic lanes.  I told the pro shop I would like to throw start at 15 hit 10 and then hook to the pocket.  The problem is the league I joined is bowled on wood lanes.  They were the only house that had a mixed league on monday nights.  So will the ball hook more on the synthetic lanes then the wood lanes??  Also on the wood lanes will I need to change my release point to get more hook?  I would include a picture of the layout but it doesn't give me the option of posting pics.

it all depends on the condition and how much friction is out there.

Ya...what Paul said.

But in general a synthetic lane should have a surface with less friction than wood one, so your Big Time should slide a little bit more.
