Ebonites Latest "The One" and "OverTime"
« on: August 18, 2005, 05:33:12 AM »
Anybody heard of these I was browsing PBA for older balls and these were approved as of today.  I like the name "The One" I am guessing OverTime is in the game time/big time series.

Paul, I consider someone saying "We are the bigger men" and "those brunswick children" and "you're a jacka55" to mean they think they are better than someone, aka "holier than thou".  So you proved my point buddy by doing nothing but insulting me and cursing, good job.  You also proved my point that when somebody says something you don't like, you FLIP OUT and go insane at them.

LOL...

Let me ask you this.

If I make exempt status, what makes you think Brunswick wouldn't upgrade my contract to Pro Staff?

Ok! maybe im going blind in my old age but could some one please point out where the so called dissing of the ebonite ball is in this thread? The only thing I read was the fact that a few people believed that ebonite was possibly producing to many makes of ball at the moment! A comment which has been leveled at most companies over the years but no big deal as to get ur back up over pizz.

It was probably my comment about how they get so mad and act like people are out to critcize only ebonite.

From what I understand about "The One" it hooks about 5 boards more than the XXXcel thrown on the same line. That's also based off of the almost exact same breakpoint as well ....

Here are the facts regarding Ebonite Ball Releases the past two seasons. Last season (2004-2005)we reduced our product releases by 25%. This season, we are going to again reduce our product releases by another 20%.

We have made a concerted effort to reduce the number of releases, not wanting to be a ball of the month manufacturer. That said, The One & the Overtime are not released until November. The balance of the season we will release only 1 more product, and that will be in February.

The One & Overtime have been cleared for use early as we wanted our Pro Staff that will compete in the Japan Cup to have time to familiarize themselves with the products.

Also, in an effort to NOT DEVALUE the inventory of Distributors & Pro Shops, we have not sliced the product line in a very aggressive manner. It is my thought that you will see quite a reduction in products displayed in the 2006-2007 catalog, and this is through simple attrition.

I hope this gives everyone a little insight.

Best Regards,

Ed Gallagher
Ebonite Brand Manager

WOW...thank you. You guys see...it doesn't take but a single post to HOPEFULLY straighten everything out! I'm only 22 years old, but the way that half of you guys are acting in this thread, I feel that I could've fathered you...and wish I did so I could whoop you for being so blind to the problem at hand.

"Did Nick make a comment about 26 balls in the current lineup Big Willy Style?"
YES

"Did the Ebonite guys take offense to this Big Willy Style?"
YES

"Did half the people that posted to argue both sides of this act like a bunch of 5-year olds Big Willy Style?"
YES

I think that the main problem in the first place is the fact that people can't go through one day on here without making some sort of "my company is better than you company" post. If you like a company...CONGRATULATIONS! But also, remember that this site was put here to inform other bowlers who don't have as much knowledge of the sport. With that being said, if a ball just plain sucked for you...SAY IT! I know I want BrunsNick to tell me if he tried the Stirke Zone and it stunk. Or if he tried the Big Time Pearl and it Stunk. Or heck, if he tried the Cuda/C (my favorite ball...EVER)...and it stunk! Because maybe he'll help someone else out who:

A) was looking to try that certain layout on that certain ball

B) throws the ball like he does, and was wondering how it would react

C) just wanna get a general concensus of how a ball seems to be for the general public!

Nowhere on this site does it say that you can only post in a certain forum if you worship only their brand bowling balls! If that was the case, then I would stop posting on this site...mark my word on that! I have 8 bowling balls that I keep with me in my current arsenal, and I have no more than 2 from any one company! So I guess that Brunswick people would accept me as long as I say good stuff (I use the Bionic Zone 1), but the second I say I tried something and it wasn't any good...what then? Should they scorn me and call me part of the F.O.S. (I use the Carbide Bomb and Super Carbide Bomb). Would they say I'm just a Columbia300 guy bashing their equipment (I use the Wired)? C'mon people...it's a forum to explain equipment...whether it be good or bad, but let's use it for just that. Not to take cheap shots at other users and their preferences!

Big Willy Style

PS...that's my $0.02 and it seems to be worth a decent amount right now!

here's my 2 cents for what its worth: unless you're throwing visionary, you should not talk trash about how many balls a company releases. second, brunswick, or anyone affiliated with them for that matter, should not even discuss how many balls ebonite has released, since they(brunswick) were the ones that basically started the ball of the month club. first it started with the quantams, then the zones then they started a whole new division called revoloution using quantum cores with zone coverstocks. so brunswick, don't go there! you may only have 16-17 balls currently, but just remember what you did in the past. peace

The amount that have been released as opposed to how many are still in the current line are 2 different things. Yes, there have probably been in the area of 50 Zones released in over 10 years (not counting Target Zones). There are currently 3 in the catalog/current line.
We currently have 17 performance balls (including a urethane Groove) in our line. A little different from 26-like 9.

I bowled in a league last night.

Light oil long pattern.

Two top series about 75X and 74x both with Ebonite.

V2 Pearl and Big Time pearl

Ebonites are long and smooth reacting coverstocks.
Perfect for this houses conditions of grabby fronts and jumpy backs.

This Ebos niche.

Kudos!
