yes this is the black label.   I have used a 16lbs ball for the past 13 years, due to a concussion, still recovering from and not being able to work out, I dropped down to a 15lb ball.   It was my first 300 and my first 800.

the 15lb ball gave me more speed and control and power.   I would have had the first 21, but a messenger(I never get them) missed the 10 pin.

Regular average 220

Ohh. Congrats on the first 300 and 800. I haven't got there yet. But I will...hopefully,

And hope you feel better with the concussion, soon

One thing I really liked about this ball was the POP it had at the end.   it actually SNAPPED back.  Most balls I've thrown, 16lbs, never had that snap and I'd leave 10 pins after 10 pins.  I think going a pound lighter helped with that, but if it didn't. WOW.  I am now looking to buy the Gold Label Elite for a dryer condition.  I receive a free ball and am going with the pearlized ogre SS I believe it is.    I do have a 40% off coupon for elite, so I may also get that as well.

any thoughts?

If you are in need of a dry lane ball then yeah, go with the Gold Label. I always wanted to try out the Green Alien. Maybe some day I will?

have you ever thrown the gold label?

I was also thinking of the solar eclipse, but I am really impressed with the "snap" of the elite label.

I haven't but I have seen a bowler at my alley throw one on drier/light volume of medium oil and it reacted very nice on the backend(snappy on the backs). I haven't seen the Solar Eclipse but I know it's supposed to be good for drier patterns as well.

Unfortunetly I have no Visionary equipment. I have InSite and Banger equipment which is made by Visionary. I do want to buy a Ogre Particle and a Gladiator Solid one Day. You can go to the Review list and it should tell you info on the ball.

I have the Elite Solar Eclipse.

It's drilled under the bridge with the CG kicked right of that about .75".

Personally I don't like this ball, we don't get along very well.  It gets way too much length and makes almost a 90 degree left turn to the pocket.  When it hit the pins it never impressed me and carry was always suspect.

Instead of playing with the cover I use my other prefered light oil equipment.  I just use it and the solid version for open bowling with family and friends.

If you are indeed looking for a light to dry lane ball the Solar Eclipse might fit your bill.  It's damn weaker than my Neptune.

I am trying to sell my 16lb bowling balls.  I have the frankie may, morich awesome finish and an old blazing inferno.

After selling them, I want to reinvest the money into a ball.   either the gold label elite (40% off coupon) or the solar eclipse.  bowlersdream.com for $70

From what you said the solar eclipse would fit my bill.  to go VERY long then snap.

Congratulations!

I was going to post my 300 I shot last night with my Black Label and I ran across your post. You had a much better finish then I did (206-188).

Keep up the good bowling and once again... Congratulations!!!!

I had this ball recently fixed and threw it for the first time after a major grip change,  holy bat sh1t does this ball move the last 10 feet or so and plum ell the rack shot after shot.

This ball makes any of my Widow series balls look weak, the back end is amazing going to bring it for league the power and huge backend should be fun to watch.

I have noticed these going for under 100 shipped on ebay, alot of ball for that price dont count it out.

Popped off a 256 with this ball last night for game 3, ball is smoother than a Venom upfront and outhooks a venom easily 3-4 boards with better hitting power.

Great ball if you like playing alittle inside out, it will recover from nowhere and make it back flush shot after shot.
