first of all, I talk with Curtis on some things, second, I have been throwing nothing but Elite now for a month and i have been averaging over 240, I made the switch after talking with Curtis,I cant wait for the next year in the South region to bowl with Elite, Remember one thing How much did Lane 1 cost when the balls were made by brunswick, then you have to remember they pay  the PBA to use there logo's.   There balls that are not the PBA's and the Alien are not  $289, I think you are getting what you pay for on the quality of the balls. There are no fill spots or damage on the product.  The reason you dont see alot of the balls on tour i think is because they are still a new company.

Also Jack Jurek at the masters, and WRW JR at the Japan one...

Another thing: the high-end elite balls cost the same to a pro shop as a high-end brunswick, they have just really jacked up the price on the internet.  But I still don't agree with the company at all.

its not justification to the price hike but i beleive that last year Norm Duke used an Elite Alien. (not exactly sure if he won the compition or not...)

Duke used an Alien in the Dick Weber Classic.  Playing straight up the 15-board right at the pocket.  The "frozen rope" as Durbin would have said.  If you wanted to see a ball hook, that was not the show to watch.  He also lost, albeit in a roll-off.  He threw a Fired Up for one shot (and struck) but knew that line would not hold up.

Voss won the Jackson Hewitt Classic throwing an R47, but those two are the only ones who have thrown Elite balls.  Duke was on their staff for a little while last year, though if it was anything like his tenure on Storm's staff, who knew what he'd throw week-to-week.

but then again arnt plastic and polyester bowling balls made in China? maybe it was the Alien Viz-A-Ball thing i saw with made in china...i dont exactly remember...

You can't go by where their plastic and Vis-a-balls are made.  Maybe they're Chinese, maybe Korean (I hear that most of the clear balls are Korean-made), maybe in the US or Timbuktu.  There are a lot of plastic balls made all over the world from every manufacturer.  The only thing you can usually count on to be made in the US are the "real" balls.

If and I'm saying if these balls are all that great why aren't they being used on the PBA and why would Brian Voss not throw them anymore. One can only conclude that they are not all that. The PBA is a whole new ball game compared tpo regionals like comparing Bush Cup driving with Next tel there is a lot of difference between the two.

Although I really don't believe the hype and would never pay the going rate for one of these, I did pick up a used P43 for a decent price.  I just finished pluggin this ball up and redrilling and am planning on throwing it for league tonight.  I redrilled the ball with the same basic layout it came with (to keep plug material out of the track area etc.).  For me it has a almost a 3" pin to PAP with the cg stacked below.  I placed a weight hole 2" beyond my PAP to get the ball back to legal.  I finished the surface with a 320 grit CAB/sanding disk and ebonite particle polish.  I'm subbing in a neighboring house tonight that typically has a heavier oil shot out.  I'll give my mini-review tomorrow!
