Your right those balls might be too much. According to Bosco13jr the Green Alien is good for med/heavy oil.

You might want to explore playing different parts of the lane as well...

Please don't buy an Elite ball, you can get equipment just as good if not better for $200 less.

i could say over priced brunswick, but that would be a lie! i have every ball elite makes but the eclipse, and i am very impressed and would never throw another company agian, even when other companys have offered me free stuff i turned it down!,  The easy of read when it comes to the lane condition is great i drilled all 10 with a similar drilling and i can biuld and hold a line for many games, and they  go to the next ball in line,

But to get back on subject, I would eather use the Viper, or the green alien, the blue is for heavy oil and the green is for med to heavy, The shark is just to much some times, but i had a local center put down 40 ft of heavy oil, and then oil the heads, then i bowled and I was still throwing between 4th and 5th arrow.

What about the promo that Elite is running. Get a blue alein and a competitors top ball for 300 bucks. That is 150 a ball.  Not outrageously high is it?

The PBA balls have gone down in price. You can pick one up now for $199 and you can buy a R series ball for $150 so the above statement is false.

why would someone who has never thrown elite equipment come into this topic & tell people what they should or should not be throwing? anyone who has elite equipment swears by it. i've NEVER heard anyone who actually throws them to say any different. if you don't have the money to pay for it, fine..don't hate, throw whatever you throw & be happy. go to that equipment board & talk about something you (hopefully) know about

Because I've seen them roll and I have a clue in the sport.  Core technology and surface technology also.  Believe me they are nothing different than the other companies except the BUCK$!

You gotta remember BowlersParadise.com owns ELITE BOWLING so they aren't losing anything when they put stuff like that "on sale."

I'm amazed not only that people buy Elite products are actually defending there prices. Let me ask you people that are throwing a question; What do average? Are you tourament players? Regional players? or are you just 180-200 average league bowlers who think the most expensive high end balls are the best....

It's hard to even recommend something similar since BP.com doesn't even tell you what the cover on the ball is. But it appears to be strong solid, and theres a ton similar.

I'd recommend, the BVP Wizard, Scorchin', Strike Zone/Red Zone. Or the Special Agent from Storm or even the Diablo. All have have free shipping from Buddies and the most expensive is $130 and are proven winners.
