It (and my Red Pearl Hammer) is a really good ball for fried lanes - I still have the one I bought in 1992.

I use my black hammer fairly frequently. It's a great urethane choice when you need consistent roll on fairly fried lanes.

there is a guy in my league that has one and is a pretty good bowler, he shoots real good scores with it. Seems to carry really good for an older ball

to late, my pro shop guy and I took a close look at the ball, (I really hadn't) and found the ball to be plugged about 3-4 times cracked badly through the 2 of the plugs a really stupid balencing hole on the bottom of the ball and it looked terrible and is difficult to resurface so I had him toss it with the rest of his junk the other day.

I found a black hammer at a garage sale and bought it for 3 dollars.  Since the span was very close to mine, you can't tell its been plugged and re-drilled.

The Black Hammer is a very good light oil ball.  It has a strong mid-lane and very controllable backend.

I haven't used the ball much but urethane is always great to have in the bag.
