As someone with some experience in home woodworking and having built more than a few racks of different designs for several different friends, let me corroborate what coachOsilver has stated. Making a decent looking rack, with even somehwat of a finished look, especially one where paying customers cannot hurt themselves, is not easy, simple, & not straightforward. Wood is no longer cheap.

Making his with parts needed to be put together by hand makes the design process more complicated and the parts more expensive still.

$100 for such a rack and holding 15 balls is not unreasonable at all.

FYI I don't know him from Adam. I just think a few of the replies made were inappropriate and made out of ignorance.

Otto, you seem like one hell of a stand up guy.  I swear if I had the money I would purchase without even thinking about it.  The product looks excellent in the video and very well made.

Some high res pics could be helpful in persueding those that have the money to spend on a rack like this since the video, for me anyway, was a bit small and grainy.

Good luck with the product launch, hopefully you can keep up with the demand!

I agree.....with many.

Better pics would be helpful - the video is rather low res.  Showing the routed edges, logo, etc would probably help others to see the quality.

Quality is expensive. So is time.  And so is material - I've recently priced wood from HD and Lowe's and was surprised at how much it has gone up.

I spent the better part of a whole day making my first rack, and probably spent $80-100 in materials - wooden dowels are ridiculously expensive.

From what I can in the video, I think the pricing is fair.  It is obvious the thing is well made and sturdy.  The ability to hold a ball at a 45* tilt is a nice safety feature.  The ability to put together without any tools is also a big plus.

I applaud you guys for your design and wish you the best in your endeavors.

Wow, after 4 hours you were flooded with enough order to be backed up for 7-10 days?  That's pretty impressive considering you never gave any information about placing an order.
Also impressive considering how many cheapskates there are around here.  $100 is a new ball.

Really, I don't know.  I can see the youtube video has been viewed almost 500 times.  At least 10 of those are from me (3 different computers) and those that I forwarded to some friends that might be interested.

I took the time to go to their website to see if there was any information about pricing or ordering as there was nothing in the video or the original post about either.  Nothing on the website except a smaller version of the video.  Check it out yourself:  http://www.infinitevisionbowling.com/home.html

I'm not knocking the guy, I'm glad they are selling.  I was just pointing out what I saw - posted at 6:50 with no mention of pricing or how to order.  3 replies.  At 10:58 left a message about being overwhelmed with orders and backordered for 7-10 days.

Heck, I might have ordered one if any details were left about how much they cost or even how to place an order.  For $100 I can go buy some 2x4s (even though these look like 2x3) and make several for myself, and I'll have them in less than 10 days.  It might not be as easy to take apart and put together, but how many times do you think I'm really planning to take it apart?

Again, I'm glad they are selling.  This looks like a really nice product.  I'm well aware that many people don't have the space, tools or ability to make something like this.  It fills a need and really does look to be the best product available.  Factor in the time to cut, finish and assemble the pieces, and the price seems more than fair to me - I'm not knocking anything about the product or price, merely pointing what I observed.  If they posted it elsewhere and had tremendous response, that is great for them.

If my previous post came across as being rude or obnoxious, I apologize.  It wasn't meant to be.

I am unable to view the youtube video as all streaming media is blocked at my work. How about some decent photos please and a link to pricing and a check out. I am interested in making a purchase, maybe two, but after reading a lot of good and bad posts, I need to see the product. Therefore, if you can provide me and the others with good quality PHOTOS, more than likely you will make a few more sales.

thanks

WOW!!!  Over 1100 hits in several days......  I am new to the forum and I'm still finding my way around here.  But I would like to thank all of you for your insight into the PBR-15 Personal Ball Rack.  I value all of your feedback and it will help to make us better.

Due to the overwhelming feedback generated by this post, the scope of the PBR-15 product launch has grown by leaps and bounds.  Here's what we have on the horizon.

* BETTER PICS COMING - I will be posting some quality pics of our PBR-15 ball rack in response to your request for higher resolution pics..  I will post them to our Facebook page "www.facebook.com/infinitevisionbowling".  Pics should be up by noon-ish today.  Become a facebook fan of ours by 6/1/10 and order a PBR-15 within this same period and receive 10% off (Limit one per sign-up and applied to a single rack not entire purchase).
* BETTER VIDEO COMING - We will also be re-shooting the video.  We will hopefully achieve a much better video resolution this time.
* EBAY STORE COMING SOON - We are currently processing orders via phone calls, or PM's.  As a full-service pro-shop we do have the capability to process Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. However, we are currently establishing an EBAY store to better serve you and any concerns you may have about divulging your card info....
* RACKS ARE MADE TO ORDER - While we do plan to maintain a few racks in inventory, racks are provided on a made to order basis!  Payment must be received in order to complete order.
* ORDERS ARE PROCESSED ON FIFO (First In First Out) BASIS!  Orders are filled on a first paid, first filled basis!  Accordingly, you will be best served to place your orders quick.  As the backorders and lead-times are growing by the post!!!!!
* PRO-SHOP or DISTRIBUTOR DISCOUNT - If you are a brick-and-motor pro-shop or distributor we will work with you.  Volume discounts are available for single orders of 5, 10, and +20 units. Also, you can have your racks customized with your shop logo or personal information for an additional fee.  Contact us for details.

Again thanks for you interest and input.  I apologize for the novel length reply.  But I'm trying to address the questions and feedback that we have received thus far.  PM me if you would like me to address a specific concern or question.

BBU and forum members looking for pictures,

The last 3 postings to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/infinitevisionbowling) contains picture and or video of the PBR-15 Personal Ball Rack.  There's the shipping pic. that BBU describes.  There's the video webmercial.  And there's an assembled pic. as the rack was positioned outside of our pro-shop.  For those of you who are legitimately interested in getting a feel for the quality of these racks these pictures are of decent quality and should provide you with what you need.

For those of you who may be handy with woodworking tools I am thinking about uploading the plans of a modified version (cut, prep, and assembly) to a pay for plans type of website.  Guess I need to weight the interest, financial, and legal implications before deciding.

For large distributors or Bowling Equipment producers (Ace Mitchell, DiLaura Brothers, Ebonite, Hammer, etc.) we are possibly interested in licensing opportunities.  Contact us if you are interested.

For those of you who may be seeking pictures in attempts to reverse engineer the rack and copy the construction we are not in the business of providing proprietary design specs. or dimensions.  We are looking to sell our product.  For legal reasons we are very selective about the pictures that we choose to put out at this time.  You can figure out what you need by interpolation/extrapolation.  Or you can buy one and attempt to copy it.  But we will not make it easy for you!  PS. see you in court.

Sorry if this comes off a bit harsh.  It's not personal!!!!  We are in business!!!!  And as such, we have to protect our interest!!!!  The intentions of some out here are to benefit off of the sweat and equity of the less fortunate, and less informed.  I am not such a person!  You're more than welcome to find a cheaper option, as I'm sure that they exist.  But for those of you who are legitimately looking for a quality ball rack, you can't go wrong with the PBR-15!  This is a rack that you don't have to hide in the garage or basement.  It's furniture grade.  The PBR-15 looks great, and performs even better!

Free bump!

Thanks for the pics.  It really does look like a quality piece.  Definitely not 2x4 as suggested by some users.

Not sure I need another rack, but it is something to think about as I wait for league payout!

Not sure where they are shipping from, but my shipping quote was very reasonable.  In case others were wondering, their quote was probably cheaper than what it costs to ship 2 balls.
