Hi All,
Here is the moment you have all been waiting for, the videoballreviews.com used ball sale!
All balls are 15 pounds and used unless noted otherwise.
Spans on most balls are 3-15/16 cut to cut unless noted otherwise.
I used vise grips and slugs, most balls are as follows…here are the specs for most of the balls, 11/16 and 21/32 oval grips, 1-1/4" Vise "Easy" Urethane slug drilled out with a 29/32 bit, round hole, no oval Pitches are 0 - 0 in my thumb 1/4 left and 1/8 reverse in middle finger 3/8 right and 1/4 reverse in my ring finger.
Prices are pretty firm, simply because I don’t have time to haggle…
The only fair way to do this is first come first serve. If you email me about a ball first you get first dibs. You will then have 24 hours to provide payment or I will be moving on to the next interested party…unless we work something else out. I accept Paypal and Money Order…ALL PRICES ARE SHIPPED! I Ship via Fed-Ex...I will ONLY ship to the lower 48.
Here are the discounts for multiple balls
1 ball - Price listed
2 balls - subtract $10 from the total price
3 balls - subtract $15 from the total price
4 balls - subtract $25 from the total price
Almost all of these balls are in pristine condition, with most of them only used for videos and then put away.

i know i will probably get slammed for saying this but, i honestly thought the prices would be lower considering you got them for free, as in a fire sale to clean out your house from balls.

I was gonna say the same thing lol
$70+ for a used ball you got for free is pretty expensive and profitable..
-
I don't think anything is wrong with the prices at all, most of them are way below retail. Most of them are more then fair, you could always ask for a deal on it if it doesn't sale!
-
remember guys, i didnt get paid to do these videos, you buying these balls is my payment...
my pricing thought was simple...take the price the ball sells or sold for at buddies, cut it in half and add 10-15 for shipping...seems more than fair to me...sorry it may seem greedy but im trying to make a little money for my work...

I don't mean to be bugging this post. But you should respond to anyone that has sent you a PM on a ball so they know if they made the score first or not.

i did think about it. The fact that he got just about every new ball that came out wasn't payment enough? $100+ dollar bowling balls? I just did a real quick count, and got 108 there may be more i just skimmed. Average out 100 dollars a ball online cost, thats $10,800 worth of bowling equipment, probably more. I figured he would sell them cheap just to get rid of the 100+ bowling balls around the house. It just wasn't what i thought it would be, and many others probably agree. Also, you say seeing ball reactions has been a great asset to people on here, i agree to an extent. Did it really help make or break a ball for a person? I doubt it. Every ball looked good, they all struck everytime.
I also thought about if the companies would get pissed selling off all the balls they had given out, Im sure a lot of them would much rather seen them go to high school bowlers, or juniors. He could have probably gotten every kid in juniors a ball. lol
take it or leave it, thats my thought, i really don't feel like arguing and was not going to till i seen you posted that.

Think about it guys. The drill press he bought, odds and ends to go with it, website fees, lineage, video equipment, editing software. Not to mention the time it takes to do that. I'm actually suprised that you were able to do all that with being married, and running your daily life.
I for one appreciate what you do (or did). Being able to see a balls reaction and how it compares to other balls has been a great asset to this site and for many people.
Imagine the amount of money that Britton has probably saved for people. By seeing the reaction instead of having to buy a ball and then find out it overlaps with something else you have.
And think about it guys. Almost all the balls only have 5 or less games on them. Just what was rolled during the vids. So I will gladly pay half price for a NEW ball with holes.

wow, sorry im trying to make a profit guys...do you want me to get into how many NIB balls i DONATED to the local youth league?????
I could care less if they sit around the house, its no big deal, i just figured they would be better served in peoples hands, NOT sitting in a box in my basement...
also, each company has already told me once they send me a ball, its mine to do what i want with...

If I was fortunate enough to get all those balls for free, i'd sell them for much much cheaper then that. But that's just the kind of person I am. $20 a ball x 100 balls is still $2,000, all profit.
But again, that's just me.

Brit you have done enough for this site and people so a select few dont like it tough. enjoy your holiday and new year. I would buy but switched to 14 oh well my loss
-
from what I see on the list all the prices look to be in the general ballpark of what everyone else on here asks for.plus they all look to be in top condition as well and you can expect not to get riped off.if I wasn't out of work I would pick up a few as well but times are tough so I get to pass as well.just thought I'd give my two cents as thats all I can afford
--------------------
The harder I try the harder they fall
-
I can see both sides of the picture but I mean I guess in the end it depends on the real reason at the heart of your endeavor. Im sure everyone appreciates the hard work you have put in and i know times are tough, but given your postion you had to have anticipated the repercussions of ur sale. The only i could suggest would have been to donate the equipment to youths and take the tax write off of the equivalent values. In closing I will say that I know companies in the past have been very strict about the resale of equipment that was given to staffers, not sure how this would apply to your situation but thats just a side note.
--------------------
-
Why are bowlers so cheap? Geez...the price on the balls includes shipping, which I guarantee you is approx. $20/ball.
BRIT...I applaud you for being a businessman who gave a lot of us valuable info over the past couple of years. THANK YOU! And best of luck in the future endeavors of the website...I was on it today and checked out the latest vid on the Storm VG.

I say it's a good and smart move Britton. You can't use bowling balls sitting at home to pay the bills! The prices seem pretty fair to me, and the condition of the balls look great. I was interested in maybe getting something since shipping is included, until I read that you will not ship outside of the lower 48. That's usually the case for where i'm at. Good luck to you and congratulations to those that scored some excellent balls.
-
ok to everyone
he said the companies said they are his to do with as he wishes, if he has donated a bunch already to youths then thats awesome also.. but who is to say that in todays economy he can't make some extra buck for everything he has done???
esp if these have been just sitting...
the tax write off thing may have been good but maybe he is spreading this out to others know who may of been wanting certain equipment but can't afford it at higher dollor prices,
and why would companies get mad at this, not like he got brand new ball yesterday and said here you go... he has had them sitting
I think what you have done is great and keep it up dont let the hatters bring you down just cause they haven't been able to do what you have done for bowling, this forum, and sounds like your local area... keep it up..

Sure, Britton could price them at $20 dollars a ball. Then he would have to deal with someone trying to buy all of them at once and put them on ebay. Instead, he did the right thing and set a fair price. Thanks for the all the videos and information. I look forward to what the new changes to the site bring.

So sad! 15lbs aren't good for me. But they may be good for my sister who's thinking about bumping up to 15. I'll let her know about the massive liquidation sale.
Good luck and good bowling.

I see no problem with selling them for the prices he did. Balls are his to do with what he likes, and there's nothing wrong with making a profit on it...irregardless how many he donated to the local youth league.
Just wish I threw 15 pounds!

Just sell the balls for what you can get. Who's to say that if you sold them for $30 that the person won't turn around and sell it for $80. If I owned a proshop, that is what I would do.

Got Revs?

did think about it.
I was waiting for the list to come out as well. I looked at it and thought the prices to be fair, but I decided to pass on anything up front. I didn't come on here though and bash Britton for what he's doing.
Don't make Britton out to be the bad guy here. The problem isn't Britton....it's the cheapskates that make comments like the one above, or the one right below.

Posted: 12/16/2008 6:44 PM Reply with quote I agree, I stayed at work for an extra hour and half for this and was totally bummed. THought the prices would have been way lower......owell.
I wish I had my hour back
I feel bad for Britton because he's out here commenting on what others have said.
smash8-10split....you may have thought your reply out, but you didn't look hard enough nor did you look at facts. $100 a ball??? Yes....for the 7 new ones. If you total them all up, there were 110 balls for $7805. That's an average of $71 a ball.....without counting the shipping as a loss. So....assuming that since he's in PA, it's going to cost $16 to ship each ball, that's $55 total....meaning if there are no discounts, he's profited $5500 for his time and effort. If you count in discounts...maybe $5000. That's nowhere near your over inflated figure of $10,800.
It's just typical though.....shoot first....ask questions later.

Bigfour,
As I PM'd back to Smash, I read it a couple of times. I didn't take it that way because of how it was worded. And as such, put the math there to show what I was referring to. Going through it again knowing that it was meant to be a comparison of what he's gotten as a result, yes, it's seen differently. But when someone talks money....then make the statement about thinking they'd be cheaper.....yes, I will make the assumption that the money was in reference to what you are getting in the end result.
Does it change my end opinion? No. .

That was a joke about me wanting my hour back. I was was worried I would get locked in. And I guess disapointed that they were a little higher then I had hoped. Money is tight so I guess I'm better off using those funds for xmas presents. Plus, I had to take into concideration that I would have had to move the span and so that would be additional $$$.
I can't blame Brit though, I would have done the same thing. Especially because If ya listed on ebay you probably would get less and had to pay the listing fees as well.
