Got the Bite yesterday and got it with a reasonable price...I drilled it with the #1 drill and man let me tell you this ball is awesoome....The ball provides very good length, controllable midlane, and very hard snap in the backend....I just subbed for one game and though i used it and shot a 266 with it...Looks like im satisfied and cant wait to use it for my league...

Bowler 1 (cranker)
Bite 1: 6 x 5 (pin up) Smoother through transition but unloaded heavy
Bite 2: 5 x 3.5 xh (pin Down)Abralon to 1000 and polished to 1200 degree. Held turnout and set the back end.

Let me say both of these are welcomed. The bite is clean through the front with OOB and surface change. The similarity is they come of the corner hard.

Med - speed control and lest revs works best
Med-Hev - unload and watch.

The bite enabled a deeper move than the original widow with great carry on the recovery. The key here was for the rever the ball responded to every ounce of hit.

Bowler 2 ( tweener)

Both balls enabled about 6-10 more boards of hook than the original widow.

A monster and wahtch the pin action off the deck..unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll keep this simple....Ball hooks circles around anything hammer has ever made, well worth the money u pay for it.  My ball looked perfect from the box, and has worked fine all week so far.

I drilled my first Bite exactly like my BW and BWP just to get the true comparison. #1 Drilling (5" pin to pap.. mass bias @45*) I will start off by saying WOW!!!! Both the Bite and BW @ 4000 abralon the Bite is about a foot earlier and 4-5 boards stronger on the backend. Then I added Powerhouse Factory Finish to the Bite to compare to my BWP..... and as advertised the Bite was as clean through the front part of the lane and stronger at the breakpoint than the BWP (apprx. 4-5 stronger) So the Bite is another great ball added to the already great Hammer line!!!!

This is like a Black Widow on Steroids or HGH. I want to thank the Hammer Eastern Sales Rep, Mr. Joe Farley for this ball. I placed the pin 4½ from PAP, over the Ring with the Mass Bias at 80 degrees, and a small X H ½ above my Axis.  I used the ball in OOB Condition, and the recovery was amazing. Clearly, the ball was too aggressive for the lane conditions, yet the ball still was able to carry exceptionally well. I was playing `18 to 6/5 with alot of "turn". Normally this is way too deep wth the Mountain in the middle on the THS here, but shots I thought were "out the window" recovered... where most balls would leave a flat 10 this one was able to kick the dime out. I have only used this ball on the THS, but I know it will be very useful on heaver volumes of oil which is what it's intended for. It surely is a stronger version of the Original, just an improvement upon the Original Black Widow. If laid out properly I can't see anyone being unhappy with this piece, it is a strong, flippy ball with great hitting power.

Just when I thought I had the best ball I drilled up the new Bite by Hammer and really like the reaction I am getting. Drilled it up with a 5" pin to PAP and put the MB in my Val. I did not like the out of box condition (way too much hook) so I put some Ebonite factory polish on it and that was too much skid, took a 4,000 grit Abralon pad and roughed it up just a little so it had a satin like finish or rough buff and wow what a ball. I have push on dryer conditions and it doesn't over react on wet dry when I hit the dry early. I can get inside with this ball and I don't think it would quit hooking if I had 5 more feet of lane.

Very impressed with the hook potential of this one.

I think most of my info is in my profile, if not pretend it is.  I used to write serious ball reviews, but i think i will write this one so that the majority of people on this site can understand it.  I got this ball for $7.95 shipped so i figured i would actually take time to review it.

BWB- drilled with pin above bridge (5" from pap) and MB in strong location.  This drilling is reffered to as an eRICOb drilling where i come from.  Put a slight shine on this ball, then hit it with a 4K pad for a second or two.  Ball ended up with .875 oz of finger weight and .50125 ozof side weight.

Overall: Ball go long and hook like a mother. This ball has already added 18.2 pins onto my china shot average. I shot 925 with this ball last week, only took me 2 games

So the last 6 balls I bought were ALL Brunswick (total, radical, absolute, scorchin, fury, fury pearl).  I saw this ball being thrown on TV and thought I'de give it a shot.  Needless to say, I doubt I'm gonna buy another Brunswick.  This is the first Hammer I have ever thrown.  This ball out hooks, out hits, and out carries ANYTHING I have ever thrown before.

Right out of the box with no practice I shot 701 with two splits in the last game on a 42 foot THS.  Then the next day I go open bowling and shoot 845! All I have to say now is WOW!!!

I am a tweener with not many ball reviews under my belt. I purchase the Bite to be my heavy-medium ball. Drilled with the pin  4 1/2 from the pap.  It was drilled aggressive.  I first tried it 4000 grit and it was too hooking too late in a THS.  Even though it wasn't gripping the lane the core seemed to push the ball into the hook.  I then dropped it to 1000 grit abralon and tried it on fresh synthetic lanes.  WOW I was able to push it from left of center to the edge of the gutter and it came back strong. When my technique was right boy did it destroy the pins. This ball is strong and fluid with it's movements.  Exactly was I was hoping for. It's early on but I know I will be happy Hammer fan.

Update: I just bowled my second series with the BW Bite with the right surface adjustment.  WOW I bowled my first 600 series of my life.  At one point I had 7 strikes in a row.  This is the best ball I have ever used.  F those who couldn't get the BW Bite to work for them.  It might be them and not the ball.

I tried this ball on a few different shots. So far i am impress. The ball is truely 2 to 3 feet earlier then the original Black Widow with a ton of backend. This ball revs so hard in the midlane then when it hits the dry it takes off. The ball is versatile to different hand positions. I recently used this ball during practice on a 38ft shot on AMF Synthetic that is usually an 8 to 8 shot with medium to heavy oil with 7 and out dry but this time the outside was OB and the backends were tight because of open play. I had the ball surface with 1000 abralon and i played the shot tight striaght up 12 to 8 and the ball still read the midlanes well with a hard arching backend. I even went in deeper and i still had the same reaction. The ball is absolutely amazing. Not only does it handle the fresh but also dominates carrydown.

Another great ball from Hammer.

I never review bowling balls, but the secret is out on this one so here it goes:  Absolutely awesome!

My average is only 167, and the first day I bowled with this ball I bowled my highest series ever - a 672.  Had a 227, 189 (open ninth - pocket 7-10 split), and a 256!  Late in the second game I should have moved left.  After moving left, from the tenth frame of the second game through the entire third game, it was strikes for all but two frames.  I am a crappy bowler and this ball was making me look great.  I felt guilty, honestly.  First time a rolled the ball before league, I rolled a spare the first frame because it went Brooklyn after that it was six strikes in a row.

Ball was drilled strong - pin to the right of, and slightly above fingers, and mass bias ~ two inches right of thumb.  I stood way left and aimed over third arrow moving closer to fourth arrow as the night went on.  The ball did need to hit some dry boards to come back, but man - just send it outside anywhere and it comes back to the pocket - like a magnet, unbelievable.  The outside shot is normally where I play, but the lanes where I bowl have been tough out there lately - very small margin of error, but inside-out was easy as pie.  I had a good five boards of error at the down lane break-point.  Even a couple of grabbed releases went for strikes - The ball should be illegal.

I only hope my bowling can live up to the performance of this ball.
