COMMENTS

The Black Widow LEGEND is back with a vengeance!  I am going to say if you missed out on the original or LOVED the original Black Widow… this is the CLOSEST ball you will see to the original. I was a little skeptical about this release since the Assassin has been a great piece in my bag, but there is a difference in the 2 Widows. The Legend (Hybrid) cover & the Carbon Fiber outer core is the perfect compliment on this Widow. The Legend is earlier & has more continuation than the Assassin. For me, this ball is about  5-7 boards stronger overall than the Assassin, but with the same clean motion through the front part of the lane & a strong backend finish that does not quit. A very versatile ball, just like the original Black Widow.

Dislikes:  When using it on the drier patterns, it still got through the front part of the lane with ease, but due to my rev rate, it was burning up a little bit. Therefore, I would recommend it for the medium to medium heavier patterns.

I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that had the original Black Widow or those that missed out on the original. This ball has a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball…

Make sure you place your pre-orders now for this ball through your local pro shops.

Likes: Thank you Hammer for bringing this ball to our equipment arsenal.  I'm loving this ball and it smooth going through the fronts and a strong continuous backend.  It's a Black Widow on steroids.  The carbon fiber shell really makes this ball so much stronger than the original Black Widow and Assassin (5-7 boards more).  This ball can be drilled different Dual Layouts to give you different looks on a variety of lane conditions.  I can't wait to use this on Sport and PBA patterns.  Bill O'Neil bowl well on the PBA Tour Summer Swing and especially seeing him roll the Black Widow Legend on a 52 foot pattern.  Awesome display of bowling!

Dislikes: This ball is well suited for medium to medium heavier patterns.  We have other Hammer balls that will combat the drier lane conditions.

Overall I've been happy with our new line up.  My customers are ready to order their new balls for the Fall Season.  Exciting times for Hammer Nation!

Likes: I bowl in a typical house with typical house shots and I think they are oiling down to 38 feet. I bought this ball last week and had the pro shop drill it for a tweener. My first game with it was a 267 during practice, my second game was a 234, and third game was 245. My average right now is a 197 during league play. I was so impressed on how the ball rolled down the lane and a sudden left turn and the explosion of pins flying. I've never had a bowling ball do that. I also own the Hammer Assassin which is a great ball for medium oiled lanes and I have bowled a 279 and a 289 with that ball. I know this, I am looking forward to this Friday night to give the Legend a run. So far, I'm very impressed with legend on how it reacts.

Layout:
4 1/2 x 3 3/4  PIN under ring with a large extra hole down on the VAL 1" from PAP.

Box Specs:
15lb 5oz 3"-4" 3.25oz

Review:
This ball is smooth and continuous. It has a great mid-lane movement with the OOB finish. For me, it works best on wet/dry where you can feed it to the spot. It's not a good ball to use if you want to open up the lane. I've found the straighter I am thru the front, the better this ball carries. I have yet to use this on a shorter pattern but I'm sure this could be a good choice for a Cheetah or similar depending on the oil volume.

Black Widow Legend returns the Gas Mask Core wrapped with the Carbon Fiber in the NBT Hybrid shell of the First Blood, all of my Hammer favorites in one ball!!  Easy through the fronts, booming backend, Carbon Fiber crushing pin carry.  Unreal!  A must have for all bowler types!
