Stats in profile. Pin above middle finger, mb 1.5" right of centerline, offset "thumbhole" drilled over mb. oob surface. This is my benchmark strong ball on a house shot. Ball revs up hard in the midlane and has a strong smooth motion on the backend. Starts up sooner than my Emerald Vibe but goes longer than my Jigsaw Corner, all at same surface/ layouts.

I absolutely LOVE this ball. I had this ball drilled to "snap" on the backend. In less oily conditions this ball is perfect w/skid action to give you just the length you need, then, on the backend it takes off like a beast. If you bowl in oily conditions i would recommend the Bite. I have had this ball for about a 1 1/2 years and I'm planning on getting a second one.

I have had the Black Widow Pearl for almost 3 years now, but I bowl only casually.
 
I used to use just an old fashioned straight ball, much like the houseballs. Then one day after a 3-4 year break from bowling, I started up again.
 
I had the fortune of bowling next to a man who was throwing tremendous curves. I asked how he did it. His first response was, "Here, give this Black Widow a try" and handed me the original Black Widow.
 
After a couple of hours with him and his Black Widow, I was hooking like a pro. He then tells me to wait a month and get the Black Widow Pearl . I did.
 
Wow! I love this ball. It goes down the lane, even in the oiliest conditions and then hooks in for the kill.
 
 My Average for slamming a straight ball, down the lane was around 180. Once I got my BWP, and the short tutorial, I am constantly hitting 225-240.  And I am saving a lot of wear and tear on my old arm.

COMMENTS

Likes: For the most part I really like this ball.  I roll average revs with modest side roll.  Pin is 1/2" up and to the right of the ring finger hole, which seems to be pretty typical.  For me and another bowling buddy who uses it, this ball hits the pocket hard...very hard.  I do throw a heavy ball but this thing crushes like no other ball in my bag.

Dislikes: It reads the lane pretty consistently when there is oil but it gets a bit cranky when the oil starts pushing down and the consistency for us both tends to drop off.  It's like our margin for error just gets smaller as the night goes on.  Yeah, I could be more consistent but my best balls forgive me and usually make me look good when I'm just a little off.     That low margin for error has left us both I don't know how many solid 8 and 9 pin leaves (and of course 10s).
 
Overall, I like this ball but it will take a bit of time to get used to the shot and when I should use it. I traded for this ball from a buddy who throws high revs and just could not control this ball at all on synthetic surfaces.  I found that I can straighten this ball out somewhat  with a lot of effort but then it just runs out too soon so what's the point?
