COMMENTS

The Red Legend SOLID is a stronger version of the Red Legend Pearl with the Juiced coverstock which can be used in the heavier lane patterns. This ball compliments the previous two Black Widow balls in this series (Legend & Red Legend). With the strong Juiced solid coverstock, still gets this ball gets through the front part of the lane with ease, and provides a very strong mid-lane hook with a continuous motion in the backends. I saw the Red Legend Solid is about 4-6 boards stronger overall than the original Legend with the same surface prep (2000)!

Dislikes:  For me, this ball burned up a little too much for me on the lighter house shot & a few lighter oil patterns, since the coverstock was a little too strong. I need to have a little more head oil in which is non-existence where I bowl down here. Therefore, I would recommend it for medium heavier patterns.

Hammer features the 3 year warrantee with this ball, so I feel that this is a great added value for the $$$.
I think the Red Legend Solid has a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!

Likes: It appears that the Bad Intentions is no longer the strongest ball in Hammers Lineup.  This ball for me was about 5 more stronger than my Bad Intentions AND goes through the pins like a Widow ball usually does........HARD AND STRONG.  I was really wanting something that would be stronger than my Bad Intentions and but maintain a good motion through the pins.  This ball definitely does not disappoint in either of these 2 categories!  You need a strong ball that reads early and rolls in oil but does not give up on the back half of the lane - Then you have found your ball!  Start your fall year off right and have this ball in your hand!

Dislikes: I haven't had any dislikes yet, but I also haven't thrown it on lighter patterns.  I would imagine that this would not be good for light patterns. LOL

COMMENTS

This is the release every Hammerhead has been waiting for. I could not be more excited for this piece. You want that legendary Black Widow reaction... here it is kids. This ball is a beautiful red ball of greatness. I am giddy just writing about it. The motion on every pattern, from this ball, is a true praise of the original Black Widow circa 2006 but matched for today's conditions. Everything from the House Shot to the demanding 48' Kegel Eiffel Tower, this piece delivers. Just get left, throw this bad boy out, and watch the Red Legend prove its worth as it smashes pins off the deck.

Dislikes: hahahahahahahah. Yeah Right.

On Kegel Eiffel Tower, I had room to the right to let this ball come back from no mans land and room inside to hold line. I have kept it OOB surface the entire time I have thrown it. After about 10 games of play I will take Ebonite Powerhouse Clean and Dull to the surface (by hand) and bring some surface back to it with ease. Even after some lane play on this piece, it provides even further predictability.

On a house shot it blends the wet dry really well. It is strong enough in the oil to continue through the pins. Once it sees that dry it is a violent reaction but is controlled because of the solid cover. The Gas Mask Core is a staple in the Hammer line. You think of Hammer and you think Black Widow and Vibe. Both core are still relevant and still dominating today's lane conditions. The midlane read and continuation of this ball are seriously unmatched. I can't see any bowler not liking this piece.

Likes:

The RED is responsive to surface changes but maintains its strength in the turn. It likes to store its energy and finish. When using the RED on THS is loved to turn off the corner. Responded from all angles down lane. The deeper I could get the better the carry. Love the continuation through the pins and kept everything low.

Dislikes:

OK. This is more of a POV. The RED is a little less forgiving on sport especially when you miss than the BI. In general it made the turn strong but in order to retain energy and carry I really had to back off the ball and get a little tighter and straighter than my BI!

Lane Condition - Stonehenge

Length: 40 Ft.

Volume: 23.75

Type (Kegel Landmark Recreational Series):

The Red Legend Solid is very smooth through the heads and mid-lane and super strong on the back-end, and just rips through the pocket.  This ball is just AWESOME.  I was able to use this ball throughout all 6 games of the San Diego Invitational Tournament.  It's my favorite of my Hammer Arsenal.

Likes:  Just an overall great ball, with smooth mid-lane and strong back-ends

Dislikes:  N/A

Likes:Holy hook in a box. For me this is the strongest ball in Hammer's line. I drilled mine 50 x 5 x 35 and this ball is strong. This ball is very early for me but still has good back end continuation.

Dislikes:This ball is too much for me on our house shot. It needs oil!!!

BW Red Legend Solid, WOW, this one is strong!  Legendary Gas Mask core with this Juiced 2000 Abralon finish gives this one a strong mid-lane pick up with continued high-flare back end.  This one is a monster!

COMMENTS:
LIKES: Box finish, solid color, strong continuation.

DISLIKES: NONE!
OVERVIEW:
The big change with this ball is the cover stock, with this release having a solid reactive shell. The red Juiced cover stock is finished with a 2000 Abralon pad. This is by far the smoothest of the previous Widow releases, even though I feel it is less angular than the last 2 releases in BW line, this ball still provides a lot of down lane motion and a earlier read on med to heavy oil patterns. It was super easy to control pocket even as the pattern changed. Red legend solid will provide more total hook than the previous two Legends because of cover change and box finish. This is by far my favorite release in the line so far!

Drilled my Red Legend Solid to fill the role at the top of my lineup as an early hook ball to chew up heavier patterns. Fills the bill and then some. The Red Legend Solid is drilled with a 48x5x65 pattern, which is below the fingers for me, with a weight hole. As a speed dominant player I need something that will track earlier. The ball reads the midlane very well but stores enough energy that I can adjust in. On a typical house shot the ball is a beast. I can use the midlane roll to increase my angle and create a heavier roll. On a 47 foot WTBA pattern the ball allowed me to create more angle to the pocket by reading the pattern earlier. Fantastic ball by Hammer.
