All I can say about this ball is  - WOW!!!!!!!!  I drilled one up #15.02 2-3 " pin with 3 1/4 oz. top wt.  Needed a medium-dry lane ball.  Always was a Fab guy so I hoped Ebonite would carry on the tradition!!  This ball interested me becuase the the "Original Blue Hammer" weight block with a flip-block added to the top.

Drilled it pin above ring finger for length but I wanted it to be tamer on the backend and Hammer stated this ball is supposed to really skid/flip so I was nervous it would be too much in the dry.  Swung the cg out 3" to combat the snap and hopefully help the ball lay-off on the backend a little.  The ball does quite well!!  749 with it the first night without even throwing it before!  I was impressed with the roll, it would skid, grab, roll and arc/flip into the hole.  I did not leave a ten pin all night!  The ball slapped out all tens, carried the wall shot extremely well and tripped the 4!  It did it all! It hooks maybe a little more than I expected but the performance is all it's own.  Go out and buy one of these.  You will not be disappointed!  The solid Blade has to be a great compliment to this ball.

This Blade is a Cut above!
(For Foundation Information read our review on the Blade Solid)

The New Blade Pearl is the buddy ball for the Blade Solid! We tested the Blade Pearl and the Solid on the same day, and at the same time side by side. We used the same drilling layout for both. (in short) Heres the run down on what we found out!

The New Blade Pearl has the same great weight block that is in the Blade Solid, and with its "Pearlized" coverstock, this ball gets down the lane with ease and keeps good energy for the break point. We found that this ball provided for even more of what we would call an "Angular" hook to the pocket. (This is NOT a Skid/flip ball) but keep in mind that those of you who have more hand in the ball (Cranker Types) will get more out of it! Those of you who are more average in release will find this ball "Long and Strong!"

We tested this ball at the same time we tested the Blade Solid and the Blade Pearl did seem to have a problem with "Over/Under" when it hit the carrydown on our test lanes. Once we got comfortable with our feet and target the ball seemed to change its mind on the break point! As we changed our break point with release adjustments again the ball seemed to tell us it wanted something else. This is a good indication that the coverstock WAS NOT matching up to the lane conditions properly! If the lanes had been drier up front, we believe this ball would have performend better. But since we had fresh head oil on lanes that had previously been oiled and bowled on, we experience alot of over/under. We could have went back to the ball spinner to adjust the coverstock, but with this Pearlized cover, we believed it to be at its best Shinned up!

The Blade Pearl should be great for those true "broken down" lane conditions on those league nights when the track area burns up shortly after the first game!
Many of you have experienced this problem and understand what we mean!

The Blade Pearl will have its place in many bowlers bags and we will recommend this ball to bowlers for consideration. But with a "Shined Up" Blade Solid, we believe we can get a more consistant ball reaction and enough length to conquer the broken down lanes of almost any league conditions!

We will recommend this ball to all bowlers!

I drilled this for a shop guy and we were looking for something to fit into his bag when the lanes are burnt.

This shop guy likes to be able to open up the lane and still have a ball that won't be extremely jumpie.

I put the pin and CG on his grip line and left the ball in the box finish.

The bowler tested the ball that night after 2 shifts and some open bowling and he was still able to get the ball through the heads and into the midlane before the ball made a move to the pocket. The bowler also tested this ball out on a tournament shot where was able to move over and play more up the lane with this ball that his other equipment. This ball is a keeper in his bag.

I think this will be a ball for bowlers who need something for light oil or slower ball speed. With the layout that was used in the test ball, we found it to be very controllable on the light oil and still able to get down the lane with energy left to explode the rack.

Drilled this up about 3 weeks ago. Drilled to go long and snap pin over my ring finger.
Specs:
15.2
2-3 pin

Man all that I have to say is wow goes long and hits hard. Gets right through the dry even better after a little polish and gets through a little oil good as well. Man hammer is back and better then ever and this is just the start.
I give it a 9.5 out of 10 very great ball thanks Hammer.

I've only had this ball for 2 weeks now, but was just itching to do this review.  The blade pearl is quite the awesome piece.  I was looking for a ball that clears the heads and is readable in the backend.  So we drilled this ball with pin about an inch outside the ringfinger, with the cg kicked out about an inch from the center of my palm.  My ball driller called this a "floater" layout.  He also told me I might want to put a shine on the ball to get it through the heads better.

A shine wasn't necessary as it clears the heads in spectacular fashion.  The blade pearl then makes a smooth, readable break into the pocket.  The hitting power is unbelievable for a ball that really doesn't hook like crazy.  Most balls I've had that react similar to this seem to lose hit.  Thank you hammer for fixing that problem!!!

I'm looking forward to trying other hammer products as this blade pearl has sold me on the direction the company is going in!  Thanks again hammer!

An early grade of 96% goes to this ball.  A true go-to ball on medium-dry lanes.

UPDATE:  Ok, had this ball for a LONG time now.  What a durable piece this was.  Seemed to get better with age.  I'm actually going to upgrade this ball by a % to 97% just because of the durability.  SPECTACULAR piece this turned into.  I'm going to buy another one very soon, as the old one was 16# and I just went to 15, so I sold it.  Hard ball to replace!

I purchased this ball about two weeks ago.  All I have to say is kudos to ebonite for restoring Hammer back to a Contender.

Ball Specs:  16lb 3 oz,  pin 4in out.  The cg is in center of palm with pin at 10 o clock, just left of my ring finger and about 1 inch out. No balance hole needed.

Bowling Style:  I am a lefty that has alot of revs and throw the ball between 18-21mph.  Basically lots of speed and revolutions.  Can circle the lane if needed but usually not necessary. I average 218-235 depending on the condition.

I left this ball in the out of box finish.  The way that i drilled this ball
(above) is for medium dry to dry lanes and this ball is the shiznit on that condition.  It gets through any heads really well then gets 3/4 the lane and then turns the corner hard but with flat back ends will go 60 feet only cause of my speed.  It is not a skid snap ball!!  It makes it move but is very predictable, and the ball explodes the pocket.  I leave more 8's and 9's than I do 7 pins with this ball but the majority are strikes always.  Hammer is back and is  in charge in by opinion, keep up the good work.  This ball is great compliment to the blade solid.

Hey everyone,

Just got this ball from Buddies yesterday and took it to the lanes on my lunch break today.

  Lanes: Wood
  Condtion: Open play (little oil)
Layout-Label with pin at 2 O'clock and cg in grip center.

I will start out by saying that this ball is a bit stronger than I had anticipated. The ball has a very clean roll to it. It clears the heads, revs up in the midlane and makes a fairly hard jump on the back. The carry on this ball is very strong, messengers flying every which way. I'm not sure if it was just the condition or what,  but from what I've seen this ball initally appears to be more for medium oil than for light. However, I still like what I'm seeing thus far. Another winner from Hammer.

As planned by Hammer, this ball gives you more length than the regular Blade (see my review) and definitely fits those type of conditions where I mentioned when you need a bit "tamer" ball.

The best thing is that you don't sacrifice much on the angle at breakpoint with this ball compared to the regular Blade. This ball does carry since I shot a 300 in league when I first got this ball.  It's usually the ball I go to when I find the backends flying.

It's great for those crankers with a lot of speed or those slow Sunday rollers who like shooting straight up the boards.

Well here it is, Ive eaited a while to get this ball and now that I do, cant wait to review it. Drilled faily weak, Pin below middle finger (left handed) similar drilling as on my Kick which doesnt hook much, so it is similar to that. 16lbs, 2-3" pin, not sure of top weight. First of all this ball looks sweet rolling down the lane. Second of all once it hits the pocket....hits like a truck. Doesnt make a big skid/snap move, more of an arc. Had to play more outisde with the Blade, between first and second arrow, but had some room to work with. Lanes were a typical house shot, 39 feet, 8-8 spread. Had to play out towards the dry or else this ball (with this drilling) did not make much of a move. There was also quite a bit of carrydown as well (open bowling all day, all the kids trying out their new white dots), so once I get on a fresh shot I will be able to get more of an idea of the line I could play. Definately not an oil ball though, but play the dry, watch it rev, and this will not leave anything standing. Of the 3 games I threw this ball, did not leave one 7 pin. Couple 9 pins and a couple of swish 10 pins, but that was about it for pocket hits. So far the Blade Pearl gets a 9 out of 10.

this is one fine ball! ive used it in all 4 houses i bowl in and once the oil line dryed up it really came to life. i like to swing the ball around 5 boards or so and this ball goes long then unleashes a reall big backend move that kills the pocket.i have a lot of respect for the new hammer line its a real great product.for the money this is a great med to dry lane ball. nothing hits like a hammer.

Let me start by saying this ball is nothing like hammer intended it to be.This ball is very even rolling and it hits hard.It clears the heads well but needs dry to react on the back end. This ball takes some getting used to but when you get it on the right shot this ball rips!!

This ball is a great hitting ball and the first game I ever had with it was a 211.  It has also brought me a 277 and 279.  I had the first 7 then the a solid 4 pin then struck out.  This ball is one of the greatest balls I have ever bought.  Its was laid out great and does it ever turn left.

Once again, Hammer has left me speechless. I bought the Solid Blade and rolled a 300 with that ball...so i decided i need a skid/flip ball and then a thought crossed my mind..."THE BLADE PEARL!" And man oh man does this ball HOOK! I have the ball drilled for length....i mean length! Here are the specs:

4 Inch Pin (From the Center of Gravity)
2.5 Top Weight
16 Lbs
Bowled on Medium heavy oil and medium light
scores the first day and the next day in league were:

First Day::189, 221, 255= 665
League:: 238, 241, 269= 748

So let me enclose that this ball is definitely WORTH BUYING...every $173.20 worth. Thats how much i payed for the ball and THANK YOU AGAIN HAMMER!
