Wow, can't believe there are not several reviews of the Sauce already.

I have drilled 3 of them for myself so far:
My PAP is 5" over and 1/2" up.

4 1/2 x 4 1/2

5 x 5

5 1/2 x 5 1/2

House conditions are 40' taper on length and to outsides, Brunswick Pro Lanes & SPL Alliance both being synthetic. Kegel LaneWalker with Infinity oil. 19.2 ml at one and 20.3 ml at the other.

I never tried one of these on the Sport condition I bowl on but have used all of them on the other 4 leagues that are house conditions. The first one really reads the mid-lane nice and still has plenty for the backend but beware that it does hook, if you have low speed this layout may be too much for you.

The second layout gave me about a foot more length and a sharper break point so I had to move in even more but it came back from anywhere so I was happy.

The third ball was just nuts as it rolled up about the same as the second but had an even sharper break point. I used it on the heavier of the two patterns and never shot under 250 going from 15 to anywhere right of 10, it was an off day for my accuracy but this made up for it.

If your looking for a new ball and want more room than you have ever had you have to check this one out.

Great job on this one from the Hammer staff!

Well I got the Hot Sauce Pearl over the weekend and used it both my sun and mon night leagues. Boy let me tell ya this ball is a FREAKIN BEAST!! I knew for a fact that I was missing a pearl ball in my arsenal and needed something that went long and finish strong in the backend.. Thats exactly what I got and then some! I got it drilled strong with the pin above my ring finger and cg in the palm of my hand, (dont know the measurements off top of my head). The ball is very smooth down the lane, then it stalls for a min and then BAM!! It hits the pocket very hard just like a typical Hammer ball does. At times this ball can get uncontrollable and if you dont keep the speed up on the ball, it will just take off. The movement in the backend is really sharp but I think i mit take some of the polish off to smooth the reaction on the ball.. Another great piece from Hammer as always.

Update: my last 4 series with the HSP
668
708
780
754

This is by far the best pearl ball Ive ever thrown!!! I smell a 800 or 300 soon with is ball. City tournament is around the corner and I cant wait.

I've been able to throw my Hot Sauce on a few different conditions, so I'll give a review on my thoughts so far.  Firstly, I had it drilled to it's strength, pin above the ring finger, and a bit to the right, CG in the middle of the grip, to give good length, and a pretty decent flip on the backend.  First time I used it was on my easy shot Friday night league.  The ball didn't overly impress me with a huge move on the backend, but that house is known for dirty backends, so it was a bit understandable.  The Hot Sauce did still make a hard enough arc to the pocket to carry pretty well, and get me to 692.  Next morning in practice at that same house, the backends seemed to be a bit cleaner, and the ball bit noticeably harder, and allowed me to open up the lanes a bit, the carry was phenomenal, and got 2 games over 260 with it in that practice.  Next opportunity for it was in my PBA Experience League on the Chameleon pattern.  Wasn't able to use it in the first 2 game set, as for some reason the pair we started on was fairly dry, and had no hold in the middle of the lane.  When I moved for my second 2 game set on the end pair, the pair played more as I thought they should have, and I started the first game of that set with the front 5, spare off a bad shot, strike, solid 9 pin.  This was playing 31 to 19 at the arrows, breakpoint around 11 or so.  All in all this ball has a really nice move at the breakpoint, and I have been cleaning it after every session, to try and preserve that fantastic reaction.  This ball is everything Hammer claims it to be, and is a pretty versatile piece, much moreso than the Black Widow Venom in my opinion.

Hot Sauce Pearl Review:

Bowler:
Right Handed
Avg. Speed 15.0-16.0
Med/High med Revs
PAP- Over 5.25 and Up 0.5

Layout:
4 5/8 by 3 1/2
Ring over Ring finger and to the right. With X-hole on intersection of VAL and Center grip line

This for the long post...

This review is coming after 12 games. First Night out on older wood lanes. THS with pretty clean backends. Track area breaks down pretty qucikly. Started out playing going up 12-10 and had a nice shot the first game 192 couldn’t pick up a couple ten pins. It had really good length with a nice turn when it got to the end of the oil almost like a skid/flip but not really. But then like i said before track area broke down fast... Then spent the rest of the night trying to chase the oil and get comfortable with the ball. As the night moved on I would have to say that it gets easy length and very good mid lane read with a very strong arc to the pocket.  Ended the night playing 25-23 out to 12-10 and still had plenty hook and power left in the ball.

The following night tried it out again. This house either has been running a little on the dry side overall for a THS. Started out playing around 15 out to about 8 with a very strong move to the pocket. Again easy length and a very strong move. But after the first game it went back in the bag…. Just to dry for this ball… I didn’t feel like moving left all night… so went back to my Pin under ring Anger.

Sunday different house about 1.5 hours away. This THS is heavier than the other 2 houses over all from gutter to gutter… Started off playing 10-12 out to about 5-7. Easy length again with the strong arc to the pocket. 268 first game… then for the next 2 games the lanes just really opened up for me… by the end of the 3rd game aiming around 18 out to 8-10 and smashed the pocket. 234 and 219 for 721.  After then we had to pre bowl for the next week… they moved us to another pair for this. Even after league still using this ball… played the same line for the first game for 248. 2 Game tightened everything up and played 19-20 out to about 12-15 and amped the speed up even with the tight line and and speed increase the ball still made the corner and had great continuation through that pins… no flat tens with this one. End up with front 10 and then got lazy left the big 4… 283… kept playing that tight line for the 3rd game but got a little tired toward the end and finished with 216 for 747 series.

Over all for me this ball was a real shock. This ball hooks a lot more then what I first expected. I have yet to compare this to my VG that I have… but from what I have seen so far this ball is stronger then my VG drilled 3 3/8 Pin to PAP.  Will do that comparison this weekend at state tourney.  Very very pleased with this one…I am thinking about getting another one and drilling a weaker and see what happens.  But don’t be scared to drill this one strong this ball does hook and get great length with a very strong move to the pocket… it also has the best carry out of any balls that I have in my bag… I just bought the cell pearl for the my father and he said that the Hot Sauce Pearl hit harder and looks stronger than his Cell Pearl that I drilled for him… almost the same layout on both… This ball would be great for anyone that wants to very strong and versatile pearl to use… This is the best hammer I have thrown is a while… Im glad that I got SAUCED!!!

Thanks to Jeff and Hammer bowling this ball was won by me in their Hot Sauce Give-a-way.

MY REVIEW THUS FAR:

just got this ball mere hours ago. ive been using dual angle drills on all my balls and the angle we used on this ball was actually an angle recommended for the brunswick wild side. its a 65* 4 1/2 30*. this ball gets very easy length for me, not so long that it flies thru the breakpoint, but enough to get it downlane, ignore the friction, and make a strong and predictable move to the pocket. i was bowling during cosmic bowling, at a house with a fairly easy house shot, pretty sure it was broken down a bit, but this ball DID NOT JUMP! it made a very predictable move to the pocket and even carried a couple light hits. i only threw bout a game and a half with it so far, but that was enough for me, the ball works wonders and i cant wait to throw it elsewhere! i only left 2 tenpins so far with it, and it will be a great addition to my arsenal for opening up the lanes. i will post a more thourough review when ive put some more games on this bad boy! this is a gem by hammer and im very surprised there arent many reviews of it.

**HOT SAUCE UPDATE**

after putting about another 15 games on this ball im ready to do an updated review.

this ball is more than meets the eye. it has a great core/cover combo, and has a great recovery for me when i get too wide, and good hold for when i tug inside, and it has carried light hits, brooklyn hits, and high hits, even some off hits every now and again. pin carry is flat out amazing! as long as i get this ball to the pocket, i can guarantee a very stong hit and pins flying every which way. and this ball takes great to hand positions, and different angles. at the moment, i dont see enough oil to use a stronger hand position for the ball, but it does read the lanes very nicely and seems to ignore the mids and slides right on thru to the backend of the lane where it makes an aggressive move to the hole, even with a weaker hand position, and if i get under the ball, im moving way to the right and throwing the ball over the 6th arrow. even on a fresh shot at the house i work/bowl at.

tonight in league i used this ball and didnt move at all. shot 653 for the night so im very happy with this ball and the color is just awesome!!!

all in all, this is just an amazing ball by hammer, and it works great with any hand position and angle ive used thus far, and for the price i got it for, its a 13/10.

absolutely amazing ball!!!

Got this ball about 3 weeks ago. A little skeptical because I wasnt too fond of the Sauce. The original sauce was drilled aggressive, but I couldnt get it to work right. So I drilled up a hot sauce with the pin at about 1 o'clock from the ring finger and the cg out a little bit. Took it out for league that night and started with my Elite Black label due to me not having warmups and not wanting to jeopardize the new ball. I shoot 289 first game, and switch halfway through. I get the feel of the Hot Sauce and finish with 226. Third game comes around and I use the Hot Sauce only, and shot my first 300 with it. The first full game with this ball and I hit my first 300 and second 800.

I highly recommend this ball to anyone. Great Stuff by hammer. This with an Emerald Vibe, you got it made

Me:
Med revs
Med Speed
Additional specs in profile.

Ball:
Pin above and right of ring
--4" from PAP
OOB surface

I won this ball in the Hammer drawing.  As promised, I'm posting a review.

Our house shot is a touch on the oily side.  The Hot Sauce forced me to play pretty square up the boards.  It gave very easy length and a very angular move off the end of the pattern.  The majority of the energy was expended at the breakpoint.  Carry was tough b/c of the late reaction.

I decided to give the Hot Sauce some surface.  I hit the ball with some 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper on a spinner.  Then, I hand-sanded it with a 2000 abralon and then a 4000 abralon pad.  The yank at the breakpoint is gone and the carry is much better.

I took the Hot Sauce with me to a tourney last weekend.  It saved me in games 7 and 8.  I had to get into 4th arrow, but still needed something to hit and carry.  The Hot Sauce gave me just that.  I was able to shoot a couple of good games that help us(doubles) finish second.

I think the Hot Sauce, in box condition, would be great on a medium THS or slightly oiler shot for those with higher rev rates than I.  The ball really booms on the back in box condition.

Overall, another good product from Hammer.

Layout - 5.5 x 4 pin down with a low hole
Surfaces tested - box, 1000, 1000 polish, 2000, 2000 polish, 4000, 4000 polish, 500/4000, 500/4000 polish

The Hot Sauce Pearl is probably the most used ball out of all of the ones ive thrown. In box finish it works surprisingly well on a variety of conditions.. especially the ones you would typically see in a league. On a wood lane with a mid-heavy THS the ball is a absolute beast. with enough oil in the heads and any kind of traction at the back you cant miss. Directly out of the box (or with a brand new coat of polish) it pushes a little bit, but after 5 or 6 throws to break the surface the ball really comes alive. It gets through the heads cleanly for a performance level ball and has a generous amount of engergy left over when it hits the dry. When the end of the pattern is encountered the ball makes a hard left turn (or right turn for you wrong-handers into the pocket and leaves nothing but dust.

You DO need a little bit of oil out there to get the maximum amount of performance out of this ball. If the pattern is really anything less than medium or so the ball tends to die a bit and hit weak. thats to be expected with something on this level and with this amount of traction. on the other hand when you have a really heavy or long pattern, the ball tends to push quite a bit unless you have some surface on it. when its oily ANY surface makes quite a bit of difference with this ball.

Surface durability is about average. it holds up well but does track in fairly quickly. it responds well to maintenance however, so keeping the surface in check is easy to do. one caveat is that the ball soaks up oil like a dessicated sponge with an eating disorder. Rejuvenating is a must with this ball and on a regular basis. it kind of sneaks up on you.. it rolls and hooks great and then all of a sudden it just stops hooking. almost like the "oil-tank" is full. when this happens just get the oil out of the cover and she'll come back with a vengeance.

Overall this is a great ball for the med-heavy THS. if it pushes a bit for you just add some grit and she will turn over. On a lighter note, some of the loudest strikes ive ever thrown were with this ball.

I just got this ball this weekend and I'm glad i picked this. I have not bowled in a league since 2002. Last week i decided to start bowling again so i busted out my OLD zone ( that i averaged 203 with in 2002) and i couldn't even break 200 to save my life. so i decided to buy a new ball (hot sauce). first game out of the box was a 222 followed by 203 and 248. ball is a beast on the back end. I couldn't be happier.

Style: Power player
Speed: 16.5-17.0 mph (down lane)
Rav Rate: 450-480
Axis tilt: very little
Axis rotation: 35-40 degrees
PAP: 5 1/8 over, 1/2 up
Right-Handed

Layout (dual angle): 90 X 6 X 35

This layout puts the pin above and a little to the left of my middle finger, and the cg below and barely left of the pin, so it looks like im almost throwing a ball laid out for a left-hander.

first thing i did before i drilled this wall was take the factory polish off and leave it at 2000 abralon. after testing this ball the first day, it really suprised me. bowling on a fresh 41 foot THS, i was inside 3rd arrow off the bat. for suck a weak drilling in it, i thought it would go really long and lay off a little more on the back. It went long alright, then screamed back and destroyed the rack! Alot of people say i remind them of malott when i throw the ball, but some of my pin action looked like Belmonte threw a high hard one at the 1-3 pocket.

2nd day of testing, i threw some factory finish polish over the 2000 surface my hot sauce had on it already. result.....the ball went even longer.....but still screamed back to the pocket effortlessly. this ball cant miss right unless you toss it in the freaking channel! Hammer yet again impresses me with their new product.

Style:Tweener
Rev Rate:330-345
Speed:15-19 mph
Lane Condition:36'THS/Scorpion

I found this ball to be extremely smooth. In the oob condition the ball went to long and was too late coming back so i took it down to 1000 abralon plus powerhouse magic shine polish with a very light sand with 4000 abralon. The ball responds to friction really well while still going long. Comparedt to the original sauce its allot longer and about 5 boards more on the backend compliment to the sauce!!

Bowler Profile
Speed:17-18
Revs:Above Average
Pattern: Cheetah

First week of league bowling for me since 2007, and its in one of 2 PBA Sport Pattern leagues I'm doing.I had no idea what to expect out of sport conditions, as it was my first time on them, but let me tell you that this ball is deadly.

Ball drilled with the pin a half inch above the ring with the cg about 2 inches to the right of the midpoint.

The thing that surprised me most about this ball is that it got such great length even though the pattern is only 35' long.

I started out in warmups with my hot sauce pearl on something other than a house pattern for the first time in my life. I knew it was the cheetah so that meant extreme breakpoints on the outside, so thats what I was working with. I threw the first ball w/ feet on 22-23 throwing over about the 12th board out to 8.It broke ridiculously early. Anyways, I had to make serious adjustments to keep this ball on the right side of the lane because this was the weakest ball i had (Only a Jigsaw Corner)

By the end of practice i ended up starting with feet on 28 throwing over 12 out to the 5th board, and it would come screaming for the pins everytime.

I threw a 210 243 190 for a 643 series, and the only reason for that was because I couldn't pick up any spares. With spares that wouldve been an easy 700 unfortunately. No 10 pins missing, all pocket hits were thunderous strikes.

I love this ball
